Jonesy,

Pink commented on Lasiah on their show. He said it was at the end of the game and most kids want to rush out, he said he sought them out and wanted to tell them he was just blown away. Said he was offered in January and did not make the visit....and shame on me I should have. Said everything was so well laid out, etc.

This OT we just offered Jared Doughty anyone know what is up with that? He is not highly ranked and was committed to Ga State. In the last 10 days, Missouri, Georgia, and Auburn have offered. Catch film of his first couple of games this season and the kid been eatin spinach in the off season or what?

Seems to have been a really good weekend recruiting wise. Having the player's signatures on the field when the score touchdowns was a nice touch witht he new lights. I have a feeling the kids ate that up.

I’m on Randy’s side on this class so far.

I know “small class” blah blah but we don’t really have any top prospects. Granted I haven’t kept up with it much but we don’t really seem to be talking about any top level guys here recently.

They literally just got a 5* #2 safety in the country.

And then promptly lost our second best commitment. It's a different world and things can still happen whether with bags or portal but right now this class is terrible

Are we just going for the guys with the "best" hair styles now?

Harris hasn’t developed liked we had hoped he would. We apparently like the wells brothers better. (I know that always gets said, but there’s a reason we didn’t match Tennessee's offer) I wholeheartedly trust Durkin.

He moves very well for a fella his size. Ya need to watch his hudl tape, the fella will be a beast against bama cause on almost every play he has one or two OL hanging on for dear life. Im guessing holding is not a penalty in MS.

So what should we do then????? Play into the kids hands and offer more money than we believe his talent should get? Clearly Tennessee dropped a bigger bag and we said hell no. If we wanted him, we would have kept the kid. Have you considered that we value some other guys more? Why overpay when a Corey Wells type who can occupy space is harder to find than another edge? They said after Aug you'd see a change and we all have. I assure you the 5* safety got more lol we can clearly afford it.

Just from things I have seen on the boards regarding DL.

Sounds like we are circling back hard on Jordan Carter, he was almost ours then committed to a and m, during the NIL wanderings. He is a very good player.

Hezikiah, a lot of his ranking is on potential and doesnt sound like he has progressed alot. His NIL deal was structured over years knowing this. Tenn offered him more money up front. So a kid that is gonna take time to develop and wants the money up front, that should send off warning bells to anyone.

Corey Wells is a true nose, with some quicks for a big man. A very good get.

I tell you one I would love to see is Trenton Henderson. Bellantoni was recruiting him when he was at Florida Atlantic and he was the first kid he called when he came back to Auburn.

I'm not really being critical because it's all about money now and I'm sure as hell not giving any. I'm just making the observation that our recruiting class is terrible.

Who? We have like half the number of commitments as other top schools. Who are we spending/saving all this money on?

We've got two good commits and lost one, that's the change you were hoping for when we were ranked in the 90s?

We have 3 players in this class who could have committed to the schools we are trying to compete with.

Like I've said, maybe there's a grand strategy for the portal or for flips. I'm just observing what is out there now and there's really no way to sugar coat the fact that as of right now it is Harsin level bad.
