Cameron Artis Payne had 1600+ yards in ‘14 after Mason left.

He’s kinda forgotten because how disappointing that season became

Cadillac with better hands, cutting ability and head fakes. He will be incredibly special.

No clue but so far so good. Incredible freshmen but has room for growth and talent off the charts. No reason for me to doubt he will continue to get better and work his tail off to be the best. We will see where he turns out but he reminds me of Kenny Irons more then any back we've had. He breaks tackles in a different way then Caddie but has less wiggle then Caddie as well. Desire to get that extra yard while being tackled reminds me of Kerryon. Reminds me a little bit of Fullwood but Fullwood didn't appear to have the vision Tank has and Fullwood at the time was faster on the field. So when it's all said and done at AU he will just be himself. Tank.

Mason was good. He also had a much better offensive line to run behind. Give Tank the 2013 offensive line and he would of been incredible. After Tank get's some time in the weight room he will be one of the best RB's we've ever had. He will be a 1st round draft pick if he stay's healthy. From what I understand he is also a hell of a student in the classroom.

Mason couldn't break tackles

Maybe I'm getting old and my memory is shite, but I remember Mason breaking all the tackles. Like every time he had the ball.

Mason wasn't an elite back but he was very good and basically a perfect fit for the 2013 offense. The dude just got the heck upfield, every single play, whether or not there was anything there. Always positive yardage.

Mason could press a hole, slide, and twist forward turning 0 into 3 yards, 3 into 5 and 6 into 8 yards better than most backs.

Maybe not elite in size or speed, but as far as lean, twist, slide, he was great.

You think Tank is better than Johnson? I hope you're right.

KJ was incredible, but he had the innate ability to avoid hits, and then could explode out of cuts with good balance. It was just a different style then what I see in Tank - not saying Tank is better as of yet. Tank is more of a "power" runner than KJ to me, but he still has that vision and explosion that KJ had. Both will be legends in mu opinion.

Mason is the best back we have had since Caddy.

Mason was the most accomplished and had the best season, but I think Tank is a better talent and by all accounts has the work ethic and attitude to get there.

I hope you are right but its early.

Mason won me over when he was one of the only players in 2012 still working hard.

Tank runs very much like Cadillac did. The vision and cutting ability are so similar. I don’t know if it’s just coincidence that CW is his coach, or if he’s working with Tank on things. They look so alike to me.

I agree with this. It appears that Tank seems like a humble kid...not tatted up and flashy to draw attention to himself. Just goes out there, gets the ball, and goes to work. He just scores and runs back to the sidelines. Big fan so far but I do agree with others...let's see how long he stays grounded and with the program.

Not to derail the thread but has anybody heard anything on Mason lately? Hope he's doing well after his mental issues a few years back.

Full stop! Mason had 1000+ yards in that 2012 Shitshow offense that Loeffler ran! That's when I knew he was going to be great!

Pretty amazing that he had to grind for every yard in 2012 but 2013 looked so easy on him.

Wasn’t Mason the last to carry the RB tradition of catching a squirrel?

Not better than KJ. Both were great at getting yards with nothing there, but Mason really benefitted from that Robinson/Kozan/Dismukes left side with Prosch behind them.
