that was a shite defense we played yesterday and we did not just dominate them.

They put up 503 yards and 45 points. That is about as good as it can get when you take into account how the first half ended with the fumble (had driven about 60 yards to the red zone and get no points with 1:30 left in the half) in the rain and a QB making his first career start. We ran the ball well (gotta stop fumbling though) and the OL wore them out in the 2nd half to close out the game.

The concerning part is the defense. Silver lining with that is two weeks in a row, the halftime adjustments have been very good.a lot of people here (myself included) have bitched about in game adjustments in the past. So if we are complaining about something, I think it's only fair to point out the good when it turns around. So there is that. But the first halves of the past two weeks are just head scratchers. I know they do, but it seems like they just don't watch film and show up and see what the other team is gonna run on Saturdays.

I disagree. We punted once. We had over 500 yards of O. Our D just couldn't get off the field.

A lot of that offense was late. If you watched that game and think we dominated, not sure I can argue that.

This. Without the fumble and if the defense could’ve gotten off the field, the offense would have easily scored 50+ last night. They were very efficient.

That's because their O was on the field most of the first half.

ETA we had three possessions where we didn't score. One was a punt. One we fumbled around their 20. One was Victory formation. I just don't know that you could ask for more than that..............forgot about the possession that ended the first half. That was kind of a cluster.

Hank looked good but I want to see him get hit and have to make quick decisions before I tab him the guy.

Getting a love tap here or there is different than living under fire. That part is coming.

I read the average time last night between snap and his release was just under 2 seconds. Gonna be hard to pressure someone on a regular basis that is getting the ball out that quickly.

Love that he gets rid of it quick. He is a statue back there so he’ll have to do that. Think the right decision was made regarding QB. At least he’s young and hopefully will learn and get better.

I’m not a fan of the 3-man front

Don't know what defense Husky Harsin plans to run long term at Bama, but if he is a 3-4 guy, and Kirby is a 3-4 guy, it's borderline retarded to try on install a 3-4 at Auburn and fight those two programs for recruits to make it work.

We may have put up 500 yards of offense but New Mexico averages giving up over 600 per game. Their defense is atrocious.

Thought Hank played well but obviously hasn’t arrived. Still tons of questions on offense as well.

Durkin doesn’t run a 3-4. Why do people keep trying to say that is what we are running? It isn’t. Not even close.

Part of offensive production is number of drives they have. Our defense could not get off the field to save their life.

If he had already arrived in his first game, I would question our coaching staffs ability to choose the best player.

I agree.
1. Which RB will stop fumbling?
2. Which OL will block better?
3. How potent will Hank be with the best WR (#8) back in the game?

The biggest question we answered is that Thorne is not our QB. Comparing Thorne vs Brown against Maryland and (Cal vs New Mexico) is pretty clear.

That is a step forward.

Mausi was a huge pick up in the portal. He is one of the few who played well on the defensive side of the ball last night.

I wasn’t overly impressed with him TBH. He looks very slow. Hopefully his experience will help us during the season though.

Would love to see us solve the muff issue that's plagued is across multiple players for the last half decade or so.

Can Thompson or Simmons return punts?

Cobb?

I’m not sure the kid from Penn St is not our best receiver right now.
