It's probably true, but from the mouthpiece for a segment of boosters/bot that are rabidly anti-Greene/Harsin, it's hilarious

PM feeds people what he's told to feed them

Well, separating yourself from the herd by drawing MORE attention to a problem is not exactly a forward-thinking move, lol...

Here's a hot take: if someone is willing to potentially sell out a team, all for the sake of a few precious "likes" and/or retreats on his social media account, then that person is borderline traitorous, and I don't care how many years or decades he's invested into the program.

That's it. Like I said earlier, a cancer on our program. Needs to go away.

No it's not. You just see it more because you probably follow a lot of Auburn fan shite on social media...

Just look at this entire website. LSU fans are on a whole other level than any Auburn fans I know of.

Does it really matter if our fanbase isn’t the only fanbase to criticize? What matters is it being used against Auburn family

Btw there is line being crossed between “player criticism”

and

“Screw Nix………..Milos……….5 star bust……….that daddy of his………… Have fun in Oregon!!!!

We used to criticize the jersey. not the person

Of course it matters. Because it's ridiculous. I can guarantee Auburn isn't the only school being negatively recruited over how our fans act on social media.

Maybe so. Maybe not. Haven’t heard either way..

Regardless they are a bunch of little Kevin Durant’s checking up on their mentions.

It’s atleast fair warning to tone it down.

What is strange was Marquel Harrell talking about Auburn fans just a couple days ago. He said something to the effect of: one day Auburn fans will appreciate Gus.

I appreciate what he did in 2013 and the fact that he ran a clean, solid program while he was here. But he did some damage on his way out the door to our recruiting and he took guys like Big Kat and doesn't seem to discourage their constant bashing of the program.

But like Bo, he's not longer an Auburn Tiger and don't want to talk about him anymore.

Sounds like hyperbole and mostly bullshite. I’m guessing that’s a Gus Malzahn quote.

Auburn fans aren’t unique in this regard. Every passionate fan base has idiots on Twitter.
Its Phillip Marshall bullshite. He wrote his last relevant article in the 90's. His sources are still Dye hangers-on like Jackson. "Back in my day...". He's particularly sensitive to his own criticisms.

Recruits talk/text with coaches every day, and we are more homerish than most. Not an issue.

Unfortunate but true. I used to think Tennessee was bad to vent under player handles. Auburn’s no different

If it wasn’t before, it will be now. Thanks Phil Marshall.

We've been dealing with Twitter for years. I laugh that these writers think it's suddenly a thing

If I'm a coach and a recruit and his momma come to me with this BS, I simply turn it right around and show them the raging tweets towards other top recruits on Twitter. It's that simple and shows them that everyone gets hated on for the wrong reasons and unjustly.

If this coach didn't do that and lost recruits because of it...

ETA Keep in mind, too, that the vast majority of these 4* and 5* recruits get treated like absolute royalty wherever they go and even the slightest fan criticism, let alone insult, is like sticking a dagger in their pride-inflated domes.

PM's has written these 'Socrates' type articles before.

He likes to chastise the AU fans on occasion(seems like once a year :)..... when it involves firing a coach or in this case an AU legacy Player like Bo feels he need to leave for peace of mind.

But watch any news program(conservative/liberal), and listen to hollywood stars and listen to professional players in all sports, and they all do it, and get into these negative frenzies whether to attack a place, organization, player, coach...you name it, it goes on.

And just watch the social media hate and name calling, if Smart loses to Saban again or if Bennett throws a pick 6 or a couple of crushing INTs.

Unfortunately, it is the world today...and it's no different in the loveliest village on the plains.

As a business guy I find myself wondering why they pay Phillip Marshall and Ron Sanders. I believe that Sanders owns the content and the website, which makes his posts even more bizzare. My guess is that they have a very rudamentary engine to measure site/article engagement and what that means for value/revenue. Phillip Marshall produces a TON of content where you can take an article written a few years ago, change some names and sentence structure and *poof*, a new article. I'm suprised that others haven't picked up on this.

I really like Murphy and Caldwell. They are consistiently conservative, but they are consistient and do a good job. Also very interactive on those boards.
