And the only 2 Afirican Americans that didn't leave are former players and 1 of them had to be given a huge raise and promotion to keep him here.

Isn’t that what we just got rid of? Sounds suspiciously like Gus…

Folks acting like poor old Derek Mason....

1. He was reported to be taking the OSU job a week before he left, so that whole "it was so bad he left without a job" thing is complete and total bullshite.

2. He's going to be making over a mil per year. This ain't quitting a 35K job to go to a 25k job.

3. Obviously he and Harsin didn't jive. SO F'ing What. Who cares.

4. I don't mind Derek Mason, I'm not trying to bad mouth him - but we're making him out to be this defensive juggernaut genius....he ain't. He was a big name hire at the time. Look at his resume. Its just not that impressive.

Harsin would be nuts not to be looking for an escape hatch at this point.

The guy was ALREADY looking to get out - what do you think the Washington and Oregon rumors were about?

That's what makes some people's positions so revolting. They want to burn down the BOT who fund all of this and actually DO want to see Auburn succeed, to back and "support" a HC who is a total dickhead, openly belittles people from the South, hasn't done anything to actually take Auburn football on the right track, and was basically already shopping for jobs - he just couldn't get any that he wanted because his bullshite has become known around the country.

I'm convinced that if Harsin was doing what Jeremy Pruitt was doing, you'd still see a portion of the Auburn fanbase with this moronic "yeah but the PTB...they probably set him up!" position.

We hired someone to change the culture and then get mad when he changes the culture. The problem is that we have no testicular fortitude. If we aren't on a clearly upward trajectory after year 3, then you start to think about pulling the plug. Not after one cycle.

Major difference in this coaching change cycle....it is very, very easy for players to leave now, and they all have twitter.

I honestly think he came here to get fired and win the SEC fired coach lottery. I don't know what he would have done differently the last 4 months if he were actively trying to get fired.

Probably the same thing the affair rumors were about....assholes who make money from drama looking to create drama.

Bryan Harsin must have been f*cking Eric Kieseau, he moved to Auburn from Boise!!!

I have had similar thoughts. He's made a mountain of really bad decisions that we can see and the smoke of stuff we can't see lends one to believe some of it is true.

I bet he was under more pressure to get out of Boise than ADAG understood.

Is Pruitt still suing them? That story faded as the season went on. At least we did not turn ourselves into the NCAA to try and oust a coach.

Harsin can’t maintain working relationships with half his staff, no way that might be a problem going forward, don’t know why everyone won’t drop this and let Hars coach

I disagree with this. When we fired Gus no one was talking about the culture. We wanted more wins and better recruiting and more stability season to season. This wasn't a rebuilding job though. He got handed a very good defense and a solid offense with 2 major holes (OL and a top end WR). I don't understand people saying we needed this massive culture change. What we needed was a smooth transition and more consistency.
