Have no idea.
Has anyone discussed Hugh’s hire for recruiting/analytics?
Clesi 2.0?

No.
Why no to Longo? Seems like he would be very good to me.

I was kidding. Just glad Liberty OC will be an analyst and that we seem to be making our presence known on the recruiting trail again

So far the only reason given from the people that said no to him is because of UNC’s defensive performance.

If Longo did well at UNC with their talent why wouldn't he do better with the talent we should get?

I don't get it either. I know next to nothing about him, but they've had a very good offense the last few years. Not sure how he is responsible for their defense sucking.

Longo's offense was 11th in Scoring Efficiency in the entire country this season. That is an elite output and Broyles Award contention worthy.
UNC's defense? 98th nationally in Scoring Efficiency.
They're a should be 11-win team this season that got completely tanked by Chizik and their defense.

I don't get it. I can understand if the reason was redzone scoring. Freeze said he can help with that. But look at total offense in the last 5 years:
2018: 510 Yds/game; 9th in NCAA (2nd Year at Ole Miss)
2019: 474 Yds/game; 12th in NCAA (1st Year at UNC)
2020: 537 Yds/game; 5th in NCAA
2021: 468 Yds/game; 10th in NCAA
2022: 481 Yds/game; 11th in NCAA

Sign me up. I was reading up on him about his offensive philosophy. It’s air raid but he likes running the ball. Sounds great to me.
We need a big DC hire. I hope we don’t go for Chris Kiffin, that isn’t good enough in my opinion.

Getting Kent Austin as an analyst is a big move. Getting Longo to be OC would be huge. Still won't be enough for some people, but this would be a splash (IHOP salmon still sucks) hire to me.

It's been almost 20 years since Chiz coach a competent defense

I thought he had at least one decent year in his first stint at UNC.

Austin as analyst, Longo OC, Luke OL collectively feels like a splash (don't knock IHOP's salmon till you try it).
Someone (Jang?) showed me Kiffin's top recruits. Pretty impressive list

UNC has actually had above average offensive talent. And until this year, an elite offensive line coach. The QBs were definitely above average/elite. I think RBs were great prior to this year.
I was initially wrong on Longo, he does not suck. Very good output.
I would still be concerned, as I think he goes up tempo pretty much all the time. This does have an effect on the defense.
Also, the competition in the ACC is not great. The scoring dips slightly against a few high quality opponents - Clemson, Notre Dame. Echoes of Malzahn - Ole Miss, Ark scoring vs UGA, UA scoring.

Don’t know if it has been mentioned, but Wesley McGriff is likely coming back to Auburn.

Article making the rounds say McGriff coming back to coach CB's. That would leave just the DC for that side of the ball unhired
