Harsin speak buzzwords

Gus:
"No doubt"
"We'll get that corrected"
"Everything that goes with that"
"Good week of Practice"
"Get our edge back"

Harsin: (from today's presser)
"Program" (44 times)
"Fit" (34)
"Process" (23)
"Develop" (23)
"Opportunity" (19)
"Family" (18)
"Culture" (16)
"Evaluate" (12)
"Connection" (11)

Very poor effort.

Gustav's were all phrases, Harsin's just buzzwords.

You could have started with "4th and 1 mentality". Did he say that one today?

Harsin seemed to filibuster on a few questions. He's a talker for sure.

I don't know what you expect about a few recruits, there is only so much you can say about 6 recruits signed. Malzahn you just know was bull be ashit. Now when it comes to a game that's when it might matter

My favorite one. Every new coach uses that one. Seems to come with the new job. I honestly dont think Auburn has a "Culture" problem. I mean you can spin anything but the culture here has actually been good for a while.

Every new coach brings in a sense of relief to the fanbase but man people are high on Koolaid right now. I hope they are not disappointed.

I really hope we have a spring game this year. I think it will be very fun to see what is different out there and how the players react to the new coaching staff.

Im not one who likes or dislikes press conferences. I honestly could care less what they say and how they say it. What happens on the field is what matters and that is what I want to see.

Objectives:
1. Recruit quality players especially at line of scrimmage.
2. Develop players to their full potential.
3. Compete for championships.
4. Find a way to get to the fourth quarter with a chance to win.
5. Use timeouts appropriately.
6. Limit penalties.
7. Limit turnovers.
8. Be accountable.
9. Use entire field in the passing game.
10. Don’t wear a sweater vest.

I find it telling that coaches want to stay in AU. If the culture was that toxic, I would think coaches could not run away fast enough to get away from the sheer proximity of that crap.

I hear you; however I'm honestly leaning to this being part of his system. One of the check points in a many step program. Also helps that it easily pads out a 45 minute presser one month in. I'm going with, we're going to be cultured to death or to delight, even before the season begins. But I'm liking it right now.

And no Koolaid please... unless u got something to sweeten it with

We don't have a culture of winning right now. That is what Harsin want to develop. Gus was fine losing 4 game a year, BH is not. Thats the difference

I thought we did some things well yesterday. Effort was good. Obviously didn't get the outcome we wanted. There are some things we can do going forward. We wanted to get _______ involved more. That's on me, we'll get that corrected.

We absolutely did and still do have a culture problem. "Culture" doesn't just reflect players getting into off-field trouble and behaving poorly. That stuff is obvious and shouldn't be acceptable anywhere. The deeper stuff is the culture of expectation surrounding the team itself. It is blatantly clear that we had a chicken-shite HC that instilled a chicken-shite culture of accepting mediocrity. That stuff passes down to the players on the team, so when you see a team that plays soft - thats a cultural problem.

You can see this represented in the norm that we've had over the past ~5 or so years of guys who are late-round picks leaving early and legitimately thinking that they're hot shite. This is an obvious cultural problem and it's something you virtually never see at the school across the state. A lot of these players have gotten very used to not being pushed very hard, and that reflects when you see a guy with an NFL draft grade who now all of a sudden thinks they're a star in the NFL. There is a very real sense of delusion that has swept over the team; a lot of these players don't even know what excellence REALLY looks like.

When Bryan Harsin talks about "culture", this is what he's hammering home. Gus ran a clean program, but it's pretty obvious that we weren't outworking anyone and his mentality of mediocrity has spread throughout the program.

I’m just hoping he brings in some energy again. I guess it was the last 3 years of putrid offenses, but the program feels dull. The last offense that was fun to watch for us was 2017.

We have the same "culture" of winning that Auburn has had for its existence. Its not culture Captain. It is basic reality

Then again might be asking too much.

One of Gus' all-time phrases, no matter if he was talking about a player, coach, or team, was "one of the best in all of college football". Tell me you didn't hear him utter this every time he spoke.

Those four alone let me know this guy knows what he is doing. Those sound like words Saban would use if he were to go to a new program and start putting in the foundation.

So much better than the nonsense Gus used to spew.
