We have million+ dollar 5-star players all over the field on offense and we are 3-28 on 3rd down conversions after the first two SEC games and are coming off a game where our offense was on pace to score 3-points prior to a miracle defensive play setting them up on the 2-yard line, and we have idiot fans still trying to make the claim that other perspective head coaches are going to be of the belief that Freeze needs to be given more time

I wouldn’t mind talking to Schumann also.

I'm fairly sure that "perspective" coaches wouldn't propose giving Freeze more time. Us idiots are simply saying that we need an actual plan because no big name coach wants the job without a Jimbo type of buyout.

Please don’t let it be Jimbo Fisher.

Not a lot of people will like it, but Rhett Lashlee. It’s hard for some of us to remember, but we were winning a lot of games when he was OC. Even the down years were better than the best years under Harsin/Freeze.

Wouldn't that be Auburn being Auburn. He would at least know his way around the stadium.

Yea, maybe third time will be the charm using the same system and offense.

I also wouldn’t mind Brent Key. Not sure if he would ever leave his Alma mater, but he’s a Birmingham boy.

Arky fired Morris and then gave Pittman six seasons to try to clean it up… he mostly failed, but they knew after pulling the trigger on Chad Morris they had to give Pittman sufficient time.
and we all see how well that turned out

of course Pittman went 9-4 and was ranked in his second year, after inheriting less talent and a program in worse shape than Freezus did

but then again, one of his 4 losses was at home to AU under Harsin

methinks you picked a really shitty example for ‘giving an HC sufficient time’

I remember him being told to move on from Auburn because the offense was underperforming.

He can win 9 or 10 regularly.

Didn't he tell us no in 2020 which is how we ended up with Harsin?

HF was a lazy hire, and as a result, we are going to be set back another 3 or 4 seasons. I hope we actually interview and review overall plans this time.

You’re assuming we can get anyone to interview.

you know, i’m starting to come around to your way of thinking

keep Freezus at least through the end of 2027 when his buyout falls below his salary for the next season, no matter what happens

keep throwing money at NIL regardless of ROI

thats the only way AU can prove that they’re serious enough to attract a good HC next time around

That concept was lost on a lot of people here, after Harsin was fired. If you are a name, the only thing attractable is big $$$. We are not going to hire a coach away from a big time school with the state of our program. That leaves you with an up and comer, or a rehab coach like Freeze. We went with an up and comer with Harsin, then went the rehab route with Freeze. Pick your poison. Unproven coordinator/HC at a non P5, or a name with a checkered past last Freeze or Petrino. FL went with an up and comer, Arky went with a coordinator. It's always going to be a crap shoot. Freeze wasn't the first choice, but he was (on paper) the best guy we could get.

I’m going to wait until there is a coaching change before I start publishing my daily Top 5 Coach Candidates.

Don’t want to get my hopes up yet.
