First, sorry for the random topic. I have been reading alot lately but have really had too much going on to post. Hope you guys are doing good.

I've been contemplating with us bringing in a proven QB who can put up very good stats in his system, Which has more power with the football God's.

Is B.Brown gonna break the trend of horrible QB play this year, or is Auburns QB curse with the football God's too much for any mortal to overcome??

Like every QB we have, he'll need help. Not having to run for his life 1.5 seconds after the snap would be nice.

We haven't had competent QB play in years. We haven't had above average WR play in decades.

Ashton was serviceable in his brief stint.

Edit: just saw he’s been named the starter at FSU. Hope he tears it up.

considering the issues with OL/WR we had, he did pretty darned good

i have my concerns about how we will perform offensively this year, particularly against quality defenses, but i think the backfield will be solidly above average based on last season’s numbers

Do we have a quarterback problem or an offensive line problem? The best quarterback in the world is going to struggle with a bad O line.

Yes and no. Nix is an example of a good QB that had to run for his life due to the OL but last year the OL held up better, Freeze just insisted on starting a QB that couldn't process anything quickly.

Not to bring up a sore subject, but both were on display versus Kentucky last year. That might be the single worst Auburn offensive output I’ve ever seen in 5+ decades of watching the team.

Good reason Hugh got canned immediately after that one.

Probably the angriest I’ve ever been over an offensive performance. Completely feckless. At least it wasn’t some rando G5 school.

quite the opposite for me

it was just bad enough to convince the idiots that hired Freezus that they had made a hideous mistake and had to do something about it

which made me quite happily vindicated

Same. For the love of god I hated that we hired that god-bothering hypocrite from day one.

I wasn't happy when HF was announced, but I honestly am surprised his offense was as bad as it was given the talent we had. I cant wait for Auburm football to actually be entertaining again

I was pissed when he was hired but still went way worse than I would have thought. I was expecting moderate success before crash out. Like a 4 year run of 6-6, 9-4, 9-4, 4-8 is kind of what I was anticipating. But we never even got off the ground

I think we will be pleasantly surprised with Brown, and his running ability will definitely open up some passing lanes.

As far as OL Im concerned Ramil has gotten no snaps and has been injured twice. Guess the coaches are as well, they played numerous fellas there in the spring. We shall see fourteen new guys and three returners, none of whom have started in the SEC or played together, but there is some talent there.

Like has been stated and beaten to death, our offense has been shite for 10 years due to the offensive line. When we had bangers in there, the rest were so bad they drug the good ones down.

Hopefully, a new and upcoming coach will breath life into the team and I think Golesh can. He has said and done everything right so far. He needs a year or two of P5 "success" to be able to recruit at high levels. If I was an 18 year old looking at schools as a top tier offensive player, I would have taken a pay cut not to play for Auburn the last 10 years. Our offense has been horrible and put no one in the league worth noting.

I think our defense will continue to get better with a step down this year.

I am hoping for competitive games week in and week out and 8 or 9 wins would be a success with our schedule. There is a good chance we start 4-0 and then travel to Arkansas at 4-4. 8 wins would be a pretty good regular season, it would mean that we had one or two "upsets" for the season.
