If tweet fails to load, click here. As expected, dude just originally showed the incompletions even though he went 15/20 on the full drill.
His 2nd throw in the clip is a dime.

I’m pretty surprised any of us have optimism after the last decade

No one has been pumping Brown up on this site. We have alll been chill
And saying he is the expected starter and for good reason. Just from experience in games and the system. We all pointed out he’s funky throwing motion.
I compared him to a Nick Marshall type thrower. Decent down field but inconsistent in the intermediate game. Being a power back will help to run split zone and QB power in the run game. He’s got more top end speed than he looks like but don’t expect him to torch SEC defenses with 60 yard runs. What he needs to do is pick up first downs with his legs get down or get out bounds. There will be plenty of run chances to crush a line backer in the box.
As we have said since Bo transferred just give us solid SEC type play from QB, good run blocking from the OL and don’t give up free rushers in the pass/drop back game. I think this staff already has a plan in place to be a run heavy offense with play action and quick option routes. With 7-8 down field shots each game. Hitting 2-3 of those could be game changers against any team

Let’s see him play a few real games before we throw him out with the trash. I think he looked good on the field at USF. Better than anything we have had since Cam other than Bo Nix.

I always look to uat beat writers for expertise on Auburn sports as well

So an bama beat writer cherry picked some throws from footage. He threw 6 passes all day?

Uh I have high hopes for Byrum Brown but how are we memory hole-ing Nick Marshall lmao also Stidham wasn’t bad
Posted on 5/31/26 at 7:22 pm to auburnnyc94
I just brought up Nick Marshall

Nick was a CB playing QB under a gimmick offense. He was great at running that O.

I was responding to the guy after you who implied Bo Nix is the only decent QB we’ve had since Cam which just isn’t true
Posted on 5/31/26 at 9:26 pm to auburnnyc94
No Stidham was very good and Bo was solid for being so young.

You are talking about the best offense any of us have ever seen at Auburn
Great gimmick it was

It was for 2-3 years yes you are correct about that. By 2015, it was figured out and rule changes changed everything. The rabbit was out of the hat for Gustav by 2015 and everyone but sunshine pumpers knew it. Gus was great for a few years.
Posted on 6/1/26 at 9:17 am to LanierSpots
It was until 2015. So yes, 2009, 2010, 2013, and 2014 were good to great. After that, Gustav was figured out and rule changes that Gus couldn’t adjust to caused him to struggle. He was never the same.
Hopefully, we got lucky with Golesh and found our Kirby Smart, Nick Saban, etc.
Letting Gus meander through until 2020 was a mistake that resulted in having to settle on someone like Harsin and Rev Hugh.

Correct. The ridiculous 2017 contract set Auburn back a decade instead of firing him in 2015 like he should’ve been.

If I hear “coach may go to….”
Let him go.
Unless he’s a multi nattie winner.
Gus got Saban money for 2 good seasons out of 8.

Disagree with that pretty strongly. If the coach is meeting expectations, pay them a salary matching those expectations. It's the buyouts where we need to get a little creative, imo, as that's where you can marry yourself to a crappy coach. But that's what every agent pushes for of course..
