I think this is the best hire we could make. It's tough to make a hire at this time of the year and he has a good resume.

buddy of mine who played at AU and in HS with me loves the hire as well.
His words are "He's Baird 2.0. Great recruiter, great coach and an even better person".

This is the right hire at the right time... players will want to play for him, there are players on the team now, we know he can recruit, we know he can develop pitchers...

Don't worry, if Thompson fails, the usual suspect will be right in line.
If Thompson succeeds, those same suspect will shift the credit to someone else.
