oh, I think he knows (and doesn't care.) There is no way he wasn't throwing that game yesterday and I have never said that about a coach in my life.

People get emotional about football but I just can't see a coach at this level throwing a ballgame (intentionally trying to lose). There is nothing to be gained. ZERO. Punishing the boosters/fans? That's so dumb it's not even fathomable, when you could lose $10-20MM doing it, PLUS your next job/pay is going to based on your prior record. Why would you want your record to be bad?
Missouri game bad play calling is just bad coaching...which is one of a couple reasons why he is likely being fired. Nothing more. Occam's razor says the simplest solution is the one most likely to be true. The simplest solution is that he's not a great coach, makes bad decisions in the pressure of the moment. Pressure last Saturday (after the PSU loss) is nothing like he's ever experienced before.
We don't have to make up additional crap to fire this rube. He's a poor play-caller, the team is undisciplined, the team's fundamentals are bad in several areas, and according to many things we've heard, he's not very active on the recruiting trail. That's enough. To pile on with other stuff that is likely untrue, just makes your other cases seem suspect.

I don't think it makes any sense for a coach to throw a game but his record won't keep him from getting another job. Derek Mason lost every game his last year at Vandy and had no problem getting a job at Auburn. Chad Morris had an abysmal record his last year at Arkansas and was hired at Auburn the next season.

He's gone. Nobody would intentionally throw a game. Prob as shocked as us with that finish. Good "D" lets a dude run 20 yards, and fumbles with the game on the line in NFL lite.
Kiffen, yes. Deion, lol (not me), some retread Champ, come on down.
Unrelated, but 12U Greenwood, beat Abbeville, SC, they hadn't lost in 5 years!

Yeah I don't think he threw. I think he went for that 4th down because Carlson was sucking. The way he went for the 4th was dumb, but I don't think it indicates "throwing."
I do think he was shocked when Mizzou missed their FG and was probably just ready for the game to end.

Well I guess it depends on how you look at it. He is fired.
I’ve stated his time as Auburn’s coach was decided in February and it’s just getting to the day it is official is all we’re waiting on.

An insider on the bunker BTA said that Auburn has back channeled Deion and that's how Kanell said what he did a week or two ago. Don't know what he said cause it's not on his Twitter so it must've been in a podcast or something

He just wrote another post saying he thinks Deion is a longshot but he's a legit candidate. Off topic sorta but didn't we have an insider on here named Murphy or something like that?

There was a Murphy on here years ago. Not sure if he was an insider.

Are you talking about Smurphy?
Austudent23 had a post on ITAT that was talking about Harsin and his buyout that was curious….

Corn isn’t the guy who had a University investigation brought against him and he gets his check from Auburn every single month. Harsin does a lot of spit that isn’t very well thought out in proper hiring an firings and the way just things work.. Its actually why we will not have to pay what he thinks he will get when he is fired after the Georgia game.

Yeah, Smurphy was the one I was thinking.

Yeah that’s gotta be who they’re talking about

I don’t know where the rumor came from that Harsin is throwing the game. If anything people should be questioning whether Drinkwitz is throwing the games
Harsin only sucks.

I could perhaps buy that Harsin is so resigned to his fate he's begun making pretty bold/arguably reckless decisions because he's done with trying to take a conservative route to 7 wins to give himself a chance. He probably now acknowledges that a) this team, under his leadership, has no chance of that barring some massive turnaround (which won't happen via some conservative path) and b) he's likely gone regardless.

Seems Harsin now understands the phrase “It just means more.”
Football is a different animal down here than it is in the PNW… I mean I lived in the home of a MAJOR PAC12 university… Even on home game days probably 3/4 of the city couldn’t give two shits about the game going on… and this was during the height of the program that included a national championship appearance (loss, lol) and a playoffs appearance. Most of the city just didn’t care.
I don’t expect it’s a mistake Harsin will make twice. He will be back on the left coast sooner than later.
I supported the hire. I now support his firing.
