Possible at 5-7, yeah or nah? Good thing? We are second in APR, so the second 5-7 team in.

Palm has us playing Baylor in the Liberty Bowl.

If we’re competitive against Bama, I can see us getting an invitation to a bowl game, especially with the way we’ve come in the last three games.

Agreed, and I will absolutely watch us in a bowl even if it’s the absolute worst one. Want to see Caddy roaming the sidelines as much as possible before the new permanent HC takes over.

*edit: not implying Liberty is a bad bowl. Making the comment they could send us to the Ore-Ida Golden Tater Tot Bowl and I’d watch.

Considering AU's current coaching situation- hypothetically speaking of course, **IF Auburn happened to receive a Bowl invite would they even accept??

Figured we’d get a better bowl at 6-6.

There are 42 bowls this year I believe. Not sure if that counts the CFPCG or not. Let's say it doesn't. That means you would need 84 teams to fill the bowls.

According to that CBS page, there are 73 teams already eligible. That means you need 11 more.

There are 16 teams one win away, including Auburn. So that means there are 15 teams AU is competing with. If my math is right this early in the morning, Auburn needs no more than 9 teams to win this weekend (10 if Rice wins). Can we find six teams on that list that we feel certain will lose?

I am pretty confident that GT loses to UGA.
Vandy should lose to Tenn, but with Hooker out and the playoff and probably Sugar Bowl out of reach, is Tenn primed for an upset?

That would be awkward for our new head coach

It is possible for teams that are not in the PAC 12 which does not allow teams with a 5-7 record to accept a bowl invitation. In previous years there have been more bowl spots than eligible teams which opened the door for 5-7 teams.

The way our fans travel, it would be smart for a lower bowl to pick us at 5-7. Especially if it will be the last time seeing Caddy coach this team.

Not sure I'd want us to get a bowl game at 5-7, even if we lose a close one this weekend (which I honestly don't think is likely). Plus I imagine there would be more than a few opt-outs.

But if the majority of the players are for it I wouldn't be opposed. Those guys have been through a lot, and if they want a shot at going out with a win they certainly deserve it

This. It's basically an extra spring practice and a great chance to practice all of the players who haven't played much this year.

There's just one week left in the college football regular season and the postseason field is almost complete. Nine more teams became bowl eligible following Week 12, leaving nine available spots. So even if these teams aren't competing for a spot in their conference championship game, there's still plenty on the line for them in Week 13.

Need some help

Arkansas over Missouri
Penn St. over Michigan St.
Pitt over Miami
Georgia over GT
Tennessee over Vanderbilt
Kent St. over Buffalo
Texas St. over Louisiana
App St. over Georgia Southern
WKU over Florida Atlantic
La. Tech over UAB
UL Monroe over USM
UT San-Antonio over UTEP

For the defensive guys. Hopefully, all the guys on offense will be replaced by better guys next year
