Why? Aranda bet the game on a low percentage play. The way Baylor was moving the ball, seems like they would have had at least a 50/50 chance, probably better, in OT. If you are going for two, run a fake.
Aside from the occaisional flash, thought Auburn played like trash. Win is a win, but Baylor lost more than Auburn won. IMHO.
Could be a long season if today was indicative.

Golesh was not happy with the win today. The look on his face told me that we've got a guy who is going to pour everything he has into making this team better. We are in good hands, but it's not going to 180 overnight.

He did well to get back to Waco because in my eyes I think Aranda is a loser that doesnt know how to call a game. I think his own decisions helped keep us in the game for two years in a row.
If he knew his offense was so bad you dont depend on it to win the game for you. Both offenses were pretty shite so neither should have been betting on one play to win it. This was a real monkeys fricking the football type of game.

I agree Aranda does not have a long careers as a p5 coach ahead of him.

Cbssportscfb's Instagram showed we had 12 men on the field before Baylor called time out and then threw the ball that Eric Winters tackled. We got extra lucky

Sorry, I disagree. If OT was a kicking contest, I think he knew they would probably lose. They had just drove the length of the field in like 2 and half minutes. They moved the ball on us all day. He took what he thought was his best shot to win the game. I would have done the same.

Yea, I agree. Plus, that game does not really affect them that much. It is not a conference game. Plus it was on the road. It really does not hurt them in any way. Why not try to win the game on the road. If he wins the Big 12, he goes to the playoffs either way

Auburn and Baylor were both 5-7 last year. Every win counts.

i liked the fake punt call at the time, but looking back it was pretty obvious
but better to be analyzing what we could have done better after a win than agonizing what we did wrong after a loss
we’re not gonna pull an Indiana this season, our competition is far tougher than theirs was in Cignetti’s first year
i have confidence that this staff is as disappointed in our overall performance last night as we were and has the good sense to address our shortcomings (whether or not the team has the talent to overcome them is still TBD)
but better to be analyzing what we could have done better after a win than agonizing what we did wrong after a loss

I am overall terribly disappointed.
I knew the OL was bad. I did not know Byrum was so slow. Byrum is screwed.

I'm not sure how much of the problem is Byrum and how much is the offensive line. Byrum looked pressured and hurried for most of the game. How many times have we seen one of our quarterbacks struggle and then perform better when they played somewhere with a better O line? Bo Nix is the most obvious example.

OL looked subpar, but its still possible for them to improve - but thats far from a certainty
i remain optimistic we can get to 7-5, but like i said preseason that’s our ceiling this year

Our OL bears the brunt of the blame. We are tactically spreading the defense out to the sidelines and still cant run the ball.
