The two travel calls were just wrong.

“ Lifting the pivot foot: You cannot lift your pivot foot and then put it back down before starting your dribble. You can, however, lift your pivot foot to shoot or pass.
Illegal foot movement: Falling to the ground, or even sliding, without maintaining a pivot foot can lead to a travel violation.
"Gathering" the ball: After ending your dribble, you can take two steps to either shoot or pass.

I’m sure he practices his footwork. Even the announcers thought the calls were not right at the moment.

Any word on Jovic’s injury?

Will Oporum develop over the next month? Can he give 10 minutes a game IF we have foul trouble with Murphy/SWA?

What’s up with Bashir?

(works in progress)

This team's like a congealed salad that hasn't fully set yet.

Have a blessed and happy Turkey Day.

Still don’t feel great about the defense or lack of size inside but do feel matter about UM game after they blew Gonzaga out too.

UM’ margins of victory in Vegas were 40, 30 and 40 lol. Somehow our obliteration was the best anyone looked against them.

They won’t sustain that kind of shooting but they’re definitely a final 4 caliber team right now.

Pretty good. Wins over a team that’s 16 at Ken Pom (St Johns) and another that is in the top 85 (Oregon at 81) is good for resume building.

The Michigan loss doesn’t seem so bad considering what they did to everyone in Vegas. If we hadn’t played Houston so tough ai would be more worried, but it seems like they were a buzz saw this week.

We should be competitive against NC State and need to pick up that win with Arizona and Purdue on the horizon.

- We have 3 solid, very good, All SEC pieces - Tahaad, Free and Murphy. Murphy hitting 3’s will open lanes for our slashers. If they r on we can beat most teams.
- Overton and Freeman need to play their roles - good D, few TO’s and drive the bal.
- We need SWA and Jovic to continue to grow and get more competitive against the physical bigs, especially D boards.
- Magwood, Bashir and Opherum (sp) just need more time before they can compete with the speed and physicality of this level of ball.

I think 11-7 in league play is doable

Agreed, these 3 have to be studs for us to do anything this year.

I think Jovic is the wildcard. If he continues to improve and play the way he did in Vegas I think he can take us from a borderline tournament team to a 4-6 seed.

Bashir

I think he's going to have to fight to get back in front of Walker. I'd actually like to see Magwood play some with Tahaad. I like Walker but he's going to be a liability as an on ball defender until he can get stronger and doesn't offer as much offensively as Magwood

I really hope he can develop defensively. He has the shooting ability from deep to really be the x factor we are missing from deep. We are really missing not having a wing that can consistently hit 3s at a 38%+ clip. We really only have Hall that's shooting well from 3.

I think this is a pretty solid overview. I think SWA and Jovic’s development is key to our ceiling. They have both already showed flashes. SWA has held up pretty well defensively for his size imo and is mature for his age. Good passer and solid finishing around the basket. Jovic also showed some positive signs in Vegas, just needs to continue to adapt to the college game and get more physical.

If they both come around I feel like that is a pretty solid 7 and probably worthy of a 4-5 seed. Oporum, Magwood, and Walker I think can all help this team off the bench in spots, and maybe one of them grows into something more reliable by the end of the season. Freeman is also an X-Factor because he has some skills that could make him elite but I have a feeling it will be a situation where he takes off in year 2 in the system.

At the end of the day if we have Pettiford and Hall are at full strength we will be a dangerous team in the tournament.

I’m thinking 7 seed. Get to the round of 32 and hope you get a favorable matchup.

This season is going to feel like riding a roller coaster.

Their first test was playing with Houston. They lost, but I expected that game to not be close down the stretch with how physical Houston can play.

Their second test was getting their asses up off the mat after getting knocked the frick out by a red hot Michigan. Beating a good team by 11 after that was good to see.

This team will take its lumps, but consistent improvement will be key. Hopefully, they can be playing their best ball heading down the home stretch of the season.

I’d feel better about this team if either Magwood or Bashir could emerge as a legitimate option. Bashir almost seems like a Pegues level miss already so it’ll probably have to be Magwood.

I like Murphy a lot as well but he has got to stay out of foul trouble. It’s pretty debilitating when he can’t be on the court. Jovic is actually seeming to progress already so that’s a good sign.

Yeah, besides us bouncing back from getting smoked and beating St John's, this might have been the most promising thing to see from this tournament.

And yeah, we seem like we'll go as Murphy's foul trouble goes. Can't have him getting stupid fouls like his offensive push off last night for his first foul.
