Who expects an offensive performance similar to what we saw last night in Florida? Or will this be the year Gus finally delivers on all his promise right out of the gate?

We have an experienced offensive line so I expect us to be able to block better than Florida did.

We have an experienced running back. We should be able to rush for more than 52 yards on 27 carries.

We have experienced receivers.

The freshman QB we have won the job over a talented guy who has been in the program for 2 years.

I’m optimistic.

If we look like UF did on offense then this place will be Chernobyl.

I will melt if we have to burn multiple timeouts to get plays called.

As with most competitive games, turnovers, penalties, and special teams will play into the result.

Its going to be awesome. Gus will have Bo ready and from the first snap, Auburns offense will be clicking on all cylinders. We will probably score 6 times in the first quarter then get the running game going in the second quarter and only score 5

Going into half time, Gus will turn on the afterburners and get 11 TD's in the second half and have Carlson kick a 66 yard field goal to keep from running up the score

Why? Because that is what every team does. They come right out of the gate with a true freshman quarterback and its clicking like a mofo.

I cant wait

Auburn 157-0

Limit turnovers and penalties.

Protect the QB.

Lean on defense and special teams.

Let Bo run the offense. Don’t do a bunch of slow developing, multi-fake special plays.

Don’t run the inside zone fast after every, single first down.

Don’t run quick pitch out of every, single sugar huddle.

Make them cover all eligible receivers. Use the TE!

If we do all the above and lose, I will respect the effort.

If we come out possession one with Gatewood, Cord, Bo and Boobie in the single wing with pirouettes and such, I’ll laugh at Gus.

If we trot out Carlson for a 54 yard FG on fourth and 2, I’ll laugh at Gus.

If we fake a FG from some emery and Henry formation with a throw to the kicker, I’ll laugh at Gus.

Last year against Washington was kind of slow.

First game, new QB, I just want a win and to get out. Then use our next two games to find our rhythm.

On the other hand, there’s no way Nix is worse than Franks. Franks is awful.

I have trained myself to never be optimistic about Auburn football.

It’s for the better

Prepare yourself then, because these early season games have a lot of that type of logistical errors in them. Lots of new guys in the program who haven't been around for game day yet. It will happen. Hopefully it isnt as bad as last night.

It was not very smooth to watch.

I was surprised at the fake punt early. It worked so I guess it’s a genius call, but with our defense I would not take that chance on our side of the field.

What a great way to start the game week thread. By talking negatively about us and another game. Anchor

Dude is terrible now for some reason.

Gus has touched him and he is all #metoo now.

I think Joiner is going to be a force at RB. Dude has a frame like D Mac during his Arkansas years.

Cautiously optimistic.

Our defense and special teams will keep us in every game. The only real question is what can we get from the QB position?

I mean I guess if you are talking about Willis... Gatewood also beat out Willis.

If you were meaning Gatewood, he has been on campus 1 year longer than Bo.

The one thing I don't want to see, is Gus putting Nix in a tough situation or no win one, where he only lets him throw on 3rd downs, when the D will know they can go after the QB.

Nix needs some early passing plays to loosen him up and see if he can handle the execution in a high profile game for his first game.

But I agree w/ others....strong D, effective running, special teams...will eventually help us win, NOT a true FR QB....

I expect it to look a lot like Washington last year. Run the ball as much as you can, some short high percentage throws with a few deep shots and then let the defense do work

I didn't intend it to be negative...Generally I believe everyone overreacts to game 1. I bet UF is better on O than they looked last night. I'm cautiously optimistic Bo will be the answer to some of the past issues. I like the OL, but don't know that I fully trust them. I'm expecting us to have a few promising drives and some struggles, but the D will bail us out. I guess I'm hoping it plays out similar to WSU in 2013.

I will be curious to see if we have an effective RB rotation. That's an issue we don't talk about it that much. Gus has shown an ability to address issues in the past so I hope Caddie has a plan and they stick to it.
