Arguing about who the best QB is at this point is like arguing who’s the shortest midget.

They all suck.

Could it just be a freak thing with the turnovers? Maybe, but is this a new thing?

Fumbles are on coaching 100% but interceptions are a lil different. There's a lot more going on there then "just hold it high and tight son". You can't coach a 3 star qb to just see a lb when the game is too fast for him. You can't make a 4 cylinder run like a v8 no matter how hard you floor it.

You guys keep on bringing up Gus but for the most part he beat the shite out of mediocre Arkansas teams like we lost to today. He would’ve won a lot of these games Hugh has lost, in fact.

No, I think Gus is undefeated this season. I wasn't a fan of what Gus did, but he was a far better coach than Freeze. And he wasn't an awful recruiter... except with oline.

As much as I hate to say, firing Gus started a downward spiral that is taking years to recover from. Gus wasn’t good at the end of his tenure but we’re in the dumpster right now. We are where Tennessee was.

Pretty optimistic of you to phrase that as though we are, in fact, recovering. Saying the football program is recovering right now would be like my alcoholic arse going to a bar tonight, getting hammered, and snorting cocaine while I tell strangers that I’m recovering. If anything I feel like we are just wallowing in our despair.

Not to be argumentative but what help would it have been if we signed Say Cam Ward. Would that make the WRs not loaf on plays. Would that make Fairweather not drop balls right in his hands?

With a very good QB this team still would probably struggle to win 7 games. We make stupid mistakes

Or even Diego Pavia; he’s got Mizzou on the ropes…

Or Kyle McCord, surely we could’ve outbid Syracuse for a competent QB

As has been what I am saying is QB is not the only issue. We play dumb. Our experienced players play like shite. Luke Deal, K. Scott, and our younger player Cam Coleman should all be on the 2nd string now until they learn to play every play the best they can and stop making mental mistakes

We are mentally weak and soft.

We brought the wood on some plays but to many times went for the big hit with the shoulder instead of getting people on the ground

Do you remember how long Tennessee was bad?

I am still optimistic and not despairing anymore. This restoring of our program is going to take a lot longer. Just look at Texas or Tennessee etc. as to how long they have taken to bounce back from national championship seasons. It’s going to take some time for us, that’s all. We can keep analyzing different scenarios which would have made us instantly successful, but chances are probably 90% of them wouldn’t have panned out. Just hang in there fellow fans, the night is darkest before the dawn.

Just have to wait until 2027 to see the light
2024... bust
2025... will be same shitshow. Then we fire Freeze
2026... gotta give new coach some time
2027... hope this new coach starts to turn things around second half of season

I agree with all that.

But with no QB, you chances of sucking are 90%. Those issues you mentioned are coaching issues. We pay Hugh 4mil or whatever he gets to coach. If we have a good QB, he can lead the team and bring up the level of the entire team. We just dont have that kind of guy

Its mostly frustrating knowing we are more talented than anyone we have played so far and we just play so bad. Mental mistakes. Playing soft, loafing, talking shite on every play even when you are getting your arse beat, late hits that are just totally unnecessary. The team is unprepared and more talent will not fix that.

I will hate to see it but I expect a mass exitious at the end of the season. You just cant go 4-8/5-7 consecutive years and hold top players in these times. Plus, that new recruiting class is going to start to thin out

Sucks watching Tennessee. They found the QB they wanted and just asked how much to commit.
