I wouldnt mind seeing Chandler Cox get 6-10 carries per game. Give him the ball and let him pound some folks, dont complicate it past that.

He needs 50 touches on the year max.

I’d rather him get good at getting open on the wheel route like Jay Prosch used to do. Other than that let him carry the ball on short yardage situations.

YouTube surfed some older Auburn highlights while getting some work done this weekend. We need to get the black shoes and socks going again.

He has very good hands....

Cox is a damn good football player. He just doesnt need to be a TB. He's going to be a big factor in other areas.

I disagree. Last year he was a very good and important player for us.

He is no Heath Evans and he is not Jay Prosch. Those were very good players

You sure you know who Chandler Cox is?
He had a rough go of it last year

I dont agree with that at all. Cox is huge and does a lot of the work that
nobody sees. Him and his leadership is very important.
Does he make every block? No. And he wont this year but he has been pretty solid for us
Posted on 8/5/18 at 8:05 pm to LanierSpots
Ya he had some decent catches and big blocks for us last year

Cox appeared to be much better last year than his freshman and soph seasons.

Trying to remember all of Gus's notes from today's practice.
Mathew Hill, Tutt, and Ryan Davis working at punt return
Young guys that have stood out to Gus: Mathew Hill, Shwartz, Seth Williams, Shaun Shivers, Richard Jubiner
Good competition taking place on OL. Appears Calvin Ashley move inside is permanent unless he's needed at OT.
They are still rotating Horton at guard and center.
Hope to have all the puzzle pieces together after 1st scrimmage and not drag it out
Cord was at practice today and went through 1v1s and 7v7s
Whitlow caught Gus's eye a couple of times so far. Gus said he's really practicing with urgency and intensity. Wants to be a factor this year.
Kam Martin is bigger / stronger. you'll see him cutting down rushers now.
Gus really impressed with the freshman especially the wr's. Talked a lot about Mathew Hill.
Want to get NCM more reps.
Want to get the X position (Slayton) more intermediate routes
Expecting big things from Slayton, R. Davis, NCM
True freshman Wrs will provide a lot of depth this year. Some will play game 1
Jamel Dean is really big, really fast, long armed. "Offenses better know where he's at"

Also Derikk Brown said TD Moultry is stronger than anyone he's even seen

I'm trying so hard not to get overly excited for this team... But it's hard. Hard like RB at a trendy used book store.
