I love having a legit low post player. Blocking shots, playing with his back to the basket, rebounding. All the things basketball used to be.
Had a chance to watch the whole game last night and was impressed with the low post.

We're not top far removed from Wiley, as much of a pure post player as we've ever had.
Loved McLemore too. Undersized but a beastly rim protector on the defensive glass that could stretch the court on offense. Ugly shooting form but he had range.

Shows you just how important Wendell is. Last years team probably would have folded.

Game was a lot closer than I thought it would be. Good OOC win on the road. On to the next.

Agree. That's the problem with Devan.
He can come in and give the team points, a spark, a block, good rebounding, but then he goes games where he seems to get frustrated his game isn't working and he does stupid things like fouls when we don't need them.
I didn't go back and see how many minutes he had, but I think he only had like 2-3 shots period.
For a guy who never likes to pass up a shot, this tells me he was frustrated and just iddn't work to get a shot after that.

Auburn is up to 11th in Kenpom… and one of only seven teams that are top 20 in both adjusted offensive and defensive efficiency (Gonzaga, Baylor, Houston, Duke, UCLA, auburn, and Texas).

There are 5 SEC teams all grouped together from 8th to 17th… Tenn and LSU are both ranked just ahead of AU in Kenpom…. UK is 14th and bama 17th.
FWIW… LSU is 1st and Tenn 2nd if defensive efficiency.

SEC is gonna be a blood bath. Which good for all teams. Remember back when the Big East just was more prepared for tournament play because of the regular season that’s what the SEC is now.

Gonna be interesting to see who rises and who struggles… really need to get things started on the right foot with LSU at home.
