I've been to Athens for games twice - 1993 and 2001. Don't really care to ever go back. When we went in 2001 we tailgated with some friends who were all UGA fans/alums. They saved us a parking spot at their tailgate, huge brunch spread, super great time, they talk about eating again after and letting traffic die down. We get back after the game, they are all gone - not just packing up, but gone.
Funniest memory of DSOR was 2013. My season tickets were section 39 about 6 rows from the top of the bowl. UGA fan has seats just in front of us. As soon as he sits down he pulls up pictures of the scoreboard from the year before and starts shoving them in the face of anyone wearing orange and blue, talking about how he couldn't wait to take pictures after the game again. He left at halftime and we never saw him again.

DSER - The Deep South’s Easiest Rivalry
This will be the 10th straight defeat at the hands of the Bulldogs, and we are 3-18 in the last 21 games.

Speaking to Alex Golesh, Joel Gordon and DJ Durkin today. Click refresh, will continue to update...
ALEX GOLESH
** Bye week allowed us to take a deep dive in all three areas early in week. "What are we good at? What are we not? It was positive for us. Got on field three times during middle of week and then got on road recruiting.
** Georgia is No. 1 team in country and certainly looks that way in all three phases. Did a really good job creating against AU a year ago. UGA is physical upfront, RB are big, phenomenal TE room. Complete offense.
** UGA defense is really big upfront and physical. The seccond level has size and speed. Secondary covers well and takes things you like to do away. Not a ton of holes you can expose.
** We have to play physical, can't turn the football over. Very well coached UGA team. Have to handle environment and crowd noise.
** No Xavier Atkins this week. We'll revisit it again next week. Keeping it in-house and not addressing anymore on matter.
** There's always adjustments every week but wholesale changes can screw you up even more.
** This game gives you an idea of how you stack up against one of the best teams in country, if not the best. College football is a week-to-week challenge so it will also tell us how we prepared this past week. Can we play penalty-free, not turn the ball over, get turnovers?
** Bryce Deas has gotten better each and every week. Been working hard to get De'Marcus Riddick's confidence back. It's gotten better, but he's come back from a lot. Excited about him coming along. Special player when he's healthy and confident.
** Looking for intent and attention to detail and energy level. Those things usually define a good week of practice. Feels good about team last week. "We have so much to improve on, so much to prove." Intent was really positive. When we play at our bet, we can play a high level of football.
** On addressing pre-snap penalties and OL starters: Evaluated pre-snap part again. Didn't see that coming in the game. On coaching side, are we doing too much in those pressure situations. On players side, are we putting them in enough pressure situations to prepare them? Going to continue to work through rotation on OL, guys competing every day (same answer).
** On 1st quarter failures: We've gone back and looked at it each week. We go into a game with this is where we want to get started, get us in a rhythm. We have taken as deep a dive and were as critical of ourselves as you can imagine. Sometimes situations like being backed up early affect the play calling. Was asked about scripted plays twice and didn't really answer other than it changes every week.
** Cody Sigler has been phenomenal. He's far exceeded expectations, not as a player, but as a leader, toughness, intelligence, attitude. He doesn't take a single day for granted.
JOEL GORDON
** On being more stubborn in run game: Every game we've played, we've given it an opportunity to get going. Had bad field position and that's when you need to get the running game going. Made some adjustments at halftime, and it got better. Have to continue to find the best situations to put our plays in and they have to execute. We're going to try to find a way to run the ball in every game.
** Trends have been a little different every game. There hasn't been one thing that's been off the charts good. We've been inconsistent. One thing we have seen is when there are 11 guys doing their job, we have a chance to execute against any team we play.
** Blocking at point of attack and pre-snap penalties have hurt us the most this season.
** On Byrum Brown's interceptions: It's decision making, that's probably the No. 1 thing at the QB position. There are times when it's clear he has to make better decisions. There's also times he has to get better protection. No. 1 thing is we have to make better decisions with the football. You go five guys playing against this schedule, you have to see, 'Man, I'm learning from my mistakes.' It's faster in this league. It's something we have to fix. It's completely fixable.
** Have worked this week simulating environment at UGA, creating adversity. Got to have the mental toughness to bounce back from bad plays and execute the next one. Didn't handle first true road game well at all. Has to be a lot more poise.
DJ DURKIN
** On missed tackles: It's something we stress and work on a bunch. A lot of factors involved including positioning. We do a lot of things schematically but it all comes down to tackling.
** Bryce Deas has played a lot of football for us. All the guys in that room are considered starters in that room.
** Said focus of the bye week was a of "block the feet," which has been an issue with a lot of the missed tackles.
** Can't be consistent for a handful of snaps. Got to do it over and over again.
** On UGA throwback offense: UGA creates a lot of issues in what they do and who is doing it. TE's are versatile. Do a lot of different personnel groupings. Tremendous challenge.
** DL has played solid, but can play better, get off blocks better and create negative plays. Just need to be more consistent.
** Block the feet is how you violently get off blocks while OL is trying to fit on a block.
*****THAT'S ALL*****

And used to be VERY competitive. Something 10 or 15 years ago and over the history of the rivalry, didn't one team hold something like a one game margin, and the other had scored 7 more points?
Now it's a joke.

Just an elite OL and TEs.
Gus left the OL as an afterthought. Harsin didn't even try that hard. Freeze paid no attention either. Can't compete without a top notch O-line.

So you actually believe that all 3 of these college SEC coaches just said frick it. I dont need OL. LOL. Thats the reason we have not had a good Oline.
I had to read that a few times before I believe you typed it.
I know some of you dont believe it but these coaches know they need a solid Oline. They know its a big piece. It is just not a easy thing to get and obviously there are some reasons out there that Auburn is not getting good offensive linemen. I cant possibly put a tag on it but I assure you it is not because they paid no attention to it

Gus and the OL stream of consciousness -
Left over from Chizik
Generational athletic QB - hey I can do this, OL?
Saban recruit
Kirby - Sam Pitmann
Gus - wild visions of a fast paced NFL passing offense - Need OL
Braden Smith - bad press
Gus - no athletic QB no OL - Mess - but many friends as OL coach
