Well, I have a potential 4th generation Tiger!

It's pretty much been her dream since we she was born, but living in the state of Georgia makes out-of-state tuition difficult. She got her final SAT scores yesterday and qualifies for some $ from Auburn and she stands to get a waiver to in-state. This also means she would get Zell Miller & Hope at UGA. We won't hear from UGA until mid to late November. Then, she'll have a decision.

Anyway, good days at the slacker house! I bought some juicy steaks to celebrate her hard work (4.0 unweighted, 7 APs, subtle brag). Proud papa.

War Eagle.

How white privilege of you.

Just kidding. Congrats to her. sound like hard work is paying off. Competition to get into UGA is a mofo. The Hope scholarship makes UGA the 2nd most difficult school get into in the conference. I knew a lot of people who were at Auburn because they did not get into UGa.( Or as morons would put it The Hope scholarship is devaluing a college degree making it now worthless.)

Yeah, I think she wants to get accepted to UGA just to say she did, and then go to Auburn. But who knows.

I couldn't fathom a situation where she wouldn't get in, but I guess it could happen.

Congrats! That's great news. My daughter is only 10 (her name is Aubrie too, get it? lol), and I dread thinking what tuition will be like 8 years from now...hell, back when I went, a student could still conceivably scrape up tuition money out of his own pocket...but looking at the current figures, that's quite the tall order now

This is always a fun and proud moment. I remember when my son got his.

He had a full Army ROTC scholarship, so he didn't have the difficult decision your daughter has though. I wish the best both for her and for her proud Mom and Dad.

(P.S. I have a very good Auburn friend whose daughter was set to go to Bama because they were offering her such a good deal on scholarships and grants, but they kept pushing and Auburn came through for them eventually (still not as much as Bama, but enough where it was an easy enough choice to take a manageable hit) and she's a freshman at Auburn this year. So don't stop pushing Auburn for more!)

You said your daughter would be a 4th generation tiger.

First AA AU student started classes in 1964. So unless you have systemic teen pregnancy in your family, you are probably white

Slack, congrats on the scholly money. That is awesome.

My son had a full ROTC scholarship if he chose Duke or UNC. At NC State it was only a half scholarship. Appears the military type prefer State over the other NC universities. Proudly paid the 50% to keep my son out of those off Blue colored schools and all they represent. Plus the blue schools can't stand up to State in the engineering programs.
