I know nothing about him, but he has coached some good RBs.

'He was twice, in 2007 and 2009, named as the National Recruiter of the Year by Rivals.com'

Oops I didn't see your thread. I'm pretty sure Lanier wants to talk about grilling out or alcohol so I will steer mine into that direction.

Looks like a good hire. I wonder how Gus will use him?

Huge boost for recruiting. Interesting announced as offensive assistant. He's typically RB coach so curious if they moving Horton or what's up

Ties to Louisiana, ATL, and South Florida. I like the sound of that.

Love how Marcello and Phillip Marshall made it sound like there would not be any offensive staff turnover, and then a day later Fountain is gone

It's pretty clear they have poor sources in Gus regime. PM has been saying he meant no one would leave voluntarily but it's clear they were wrong

My understanding is that Porter will coach tight ends. I'm not dissing tight ends coaches, but that's considered the easiest position to coach and is often the place where a big-time recruiter like Porter lands. The OL coach usually coaches the tight ends, too, when it comes to the running game and blocking. We will see when the official announcement comes, but that's what I expect to happen

Marcello was actually the one who named Porter yesterday. Marshall is used as JJ's mouthpiece so he's definitely used for disinformation.

Porter and Horton should be a great combo for RB recruiting by all accounts.

It's important to note that Porter was named national recruiter in 2007 and 2009.

Edit: or I could have actually read the original post

Props to Gus. This is a great hire. We desperately needed an ace recruiter, Gus got one.
