Thorne looked awful.

How bad is Geriner?

Thorne is pressing HARD even when he had the faith of the coaches. All we need him to do is manage the offense and hit guys when and if they're open. Side note- How in the living Hell was Austin keys or Anyone else on the field over Asante? We lose this game without him, period.

We will probably see at least 8 defenses better than Cal's. Thorne is not going to win us many games. I hope Stache Geriner can get some play soon.

Saw some of the game, but couldn’t really pay close attention. I see Thorne had 14 passing attempts. That seems very low. Listening to radio on the way home, Jason Campbell said he thought the offense opened up more and flowed better when we started opening up the passing game late. Thoughts on this? Do we have a play calling issue or maybe coaches are trying to figure how the offense will work best as we go?

agree, Cal has a very adequate defense

it is their head coaches specialty

Thorne has the physical tools, he just locked up mentally. Guys were open but his brain and arm wouldn't work together. He also stared down every WR. Cal just wasn't talented enough to take advantage. If we don't improve, we won't win a SEC west game.

Once Thorn completed that pass to Rivaldo on third down our drive started opening up a goodbit. Bad thing is that third down pass was not great decision at all. There were players draped all over that TE; it actually reminded me of some of Landon king's better catches where he was 100% covered up.

Thorne is going to continue to be a high TD and high turnover QB.

We only ran a few more than 50 plays. 14 pass attempts from Thorne, 3 from Robby, and probably 2-3 sacks. That’s getting close to 20 pass plays. Also think Thorne didn’t throw on the RPO when he should have

The SEC isn't looking so good this year... So there's hope.

Other than the 4 OOC games, We should have a fighting chance against State. I have not seen Arkansas play yet. Ole Miss is at home but we cant get in a scoring battle with them. We should be in against Vandy. Other than that, we are going to need to improve a ton to be competitive

UTk and UK loses if they play Cal in Cal yesterday. We’ll improve, just happy to get out of that state with a win for the first time in forever.

Yes sir. The win is important. No matter how ugly. Helps with player confidence.

Plus, winning is just fun.

3 fumbles will do that for you. Any time we got anything at all on offense we turned around and fumbled and killed all the momentum. 1 encouraging thing though.. When we NEEDED a scoring drive we found a way to got it and when we NEEDED a first down to run the clock out we got that too.
