Not all commitments are the same but I think it’s fairly safe to say that the majority of this class is locked in and the exception would be if our staff had an issue and pivoted. Knowing the individual situation of these guys, they chose Auburn and the staff chose them for good reason.

I’d say with how much shite our fan base has given Cohen for how conservative he’s been with NIL (I think warranted at this point) and then Golesh for his comments on how they are structuring NIL to reward performance over flat checks for unproven talent, I’d definitely lean more towards we aren’t just buying commitments to have on paper.

Point is still valid though, in today’s landscape, what happens in the summer is even more irrelevant than it has ever been pre-NIL.

They spoke like 25-27 was a possibility during the C5 Zac segment earlier today.

Karlos Mays seems to be playing us against Georgia. Definitely the only true nose we seem to be in the running for now that Christian May committed to Tenn.

I hate to see Sam LeJuene leaning so hard to FSU, seems its down to them and Cal. He is gonna be a fantastic get for someone. Kid is fast, strong, and his body is definitely college ready.

Or circle back to Jamar Thompson who committed to Ga Tech.

Would be a heck of a finish. I would add Marquis Evans as a strong side DE. JLee said he saw him on his official a couple weeks ago and he is a grown man, would not consider him an edge anymore.

Also talk of one more DB after Crumb, wonder where we sit with Tae Walden?

If we get Adams that would be the best OL haul in, how long, at least a decade. Wonder what soured him on Georgia?

That would be quite the quick flip if it were to happen, a whole two weeks

Wouldn’t want to lose him, but it was one of the few commitments that seemed a little outside the box already having MJC in the fold plus our current RB room.

I’d be okay letting him go, and throwing that $ at Mays and TWJ.

Something just feels right seeing Alabama at the bottom of the SEC rankings, #16 bottom feeders

Yeah, that’s why this just seems like noise. Mizzou wanted him before he committed and nothing about the situation has changed, unless Mizzou is offering more money. I mean, I expect other schools to keep recruiting our commits but Mizzou isn’t new to the table with Miles. He is from there and seems like if he wanted to stay home, there was no reason to commit to us and I seriously doubt that has changed in two weeks.

But we’ve seen crazier things in recruiting. I hope we can hang on to him. I’m fairly confident we can, unless the money is too much. Golesh doesn’t seem like the coach that would want wishy-washy recruits to commit. Just my opinion

I’m getting TWJ vibes..

I would say May but he has a visit with Ohio State this upcoming weekend before his “expected” decision but it seems between us and UGA, so could be..

JLee and crew brought up a very good point regarding Alabama and Georgia.

It could be the retention cost of NIL is constraining them with spending for this year's class. Or in the case of Alabama, their enormous cost of the QB room has restricted them.

Look at bamas QB room Austin Mack an expensive transfer. Russell and Thomalla both 5 stars on the bench. And now this cycle they pick up another 5 and 4 star.

Ah college football in the era of NIL.....

Yea, I know its been a contentious topic when it comes to depth pieces and everything but it is definitely becoming the reality of roster management. Most of the big SEC schools just don't have the unlimited pockets we sometimes think we do. I read a while back that had said Alabama may even be signing a high school class of like 15 at most. So, their ranking will obviously be down just because of the class size, but even still, that is an absurd number.
