Grady?

we'll end up with him or scroggins. Staff likes Scroggins more, but Grady gets an instate bump. If Grady's nil number meets ours we'll take him, but until that happens I'd be kinda surprised if he ends up in the class.

As for offord I think Hugh would consider it a failure if we don't flip him. He won't rest on that one until that kid is signed.

Hugh Freeze is absolutely relentless. If we signed him in late 2020 instead of Potato idiot we'd be a top 4 playoff team by now. Too much red tape I know, but damn it's frustrated to think about

I’m told Grady wants in but he needs to lower $$$ for that to happen. While he is certainly a good player he is not a “need” at this time. We got the player we wanted from Ohio State. Staff likes Grady but Scroggins grades out higher.
Offord is in the boat and the QB should be settled this coming week.

Malzahn's recruiting classes were exciting. We often finished top 12.

Malzahn had some good classes for sure, but they always seemed to be imbalanced. Way heavy in one position area and almost empty in another. And for all the stars that his receivers got, I don’t remember any of them looking like these thoroughbreds Hugh has signed. Gus had a lot of guys wash out too.

Freeze seems to have the most cohesive staff and recruiting strategy we’ve ever had…at least since Dye, anyway. There is a distinct way that Freeze wants his roster to stack up and he and his crew are recruiting that strategy with military precision.

I hope in the days of NIL he can still win by recruiting HS players, establishing an unselfish culture, and filling holes in the portal because if his strategy can still work in the 2020’s we are in for some fun-filled football for a while.

My friend…. Let this team win 7-8 games including that one in T-town this year….. it will be insane on the recruiting trail.

They sure were…for our rivals. They loved flipping Gus’s top recruits on signing day and making him look like a fool. Now, Freeze is doing the locker stuffing to them. We just need to see him develop these kids and get results on the field.

Just stop it ville. We lost some and gained some back then. Gus brought in some of the best talent Auburn has ever had. Yes we were lacking at some positions late in his tenure but they were fun to watch.

He also was recruiting against Saban in state and not that dude they have now.

Sure, if you like seeing your QB run for his life because he has no offensive line. Exciting!!

I think you are exactly right Big Tastey,

If you look at in the two edges in the class that arrived, next year 2026 (good heavens three of the top five in the country could end up with us and a fourth in the top 15), then look where we stand now. JJ Faulk ends up and Edge, Jared at end.

One more edge in Scroggins, if ,if. Then where does Grady fit, maybe at end? But to your point, at this stage he is a "nice" to have, not a need.

What a position to be in eh??? Wow how times have changed.

He called his shot with this one. If he lands Offord, crow will be served for all the doubters

In my personal opinion, in the NIL era, we are better off giving as much to highly rated instate players. If someone comes over here from California, they may have more thoughts about going back home if the situation and the money is right. That’s why I like this 2025 class a lot - the top 8 are Top 100 players and from our state. We are giving a lot of highly rated players a chance to stay home, help their families and have family and friends come over to watch them play and be part of their success. Of course, the gumps would call that sour grapes and not having enough 5 stars, but they can go sit on a cactus.

Wonder if Offord flips before the season? Seems like Hugh wants most of the class done so he can focus on preparing for games. I’m very very pleased with this class, would be great to flip Cunningham and land Babalola.

I think landing Deuce would give us some momentum with Cunningham.

We’re certainly in a great spot with this class but the staff will have to work pretty hard during the season to keep kids committed and replace the ones that will inevitably flip

Just the reality these days with NIL. Gonna be programs with extra cash at the end of the season that will make our staff’s jobs hard

Go to the national championship? Beat 3 #1 teams?

I mean, there are more but only two head coaches in modern day history took us to a natty. He is one of them and oh by the way, he was the OC when we did the other one. And lets just be honest, it was his offense that took us there, not the defense

And he didnt lose to New Mexico state. He didnt have the two worst losses in Auburn history. All in his first year. 4th and 31

So lets just wait and see how we do with this new talent before we go full barner.

I would think Offord would be a late in the season Decemberish flip. We still have some things to prove on the field. But I do think we have a slight lead over bammer.

Cunningham we will continue to recruit but we are behind Bama by a good bit. I’m not certain that if we flip Turner they we will spend the money to flip Cunningham. So TBD on him.

Grady as mentioned is down the board as an Edge and to the staff projects as a strong side end. And Grady wants pass rusher type NiL.

Freeze definitely has the more balanced classes over Gus. Gus gave us some wildly exciting times though.

My favorite metric is total recruiting pages on the recruiting threads... Gus had us lit at times
