The clowns are the ones celebrating the recent three star corner and three star offensive tackle like it’s some sort of massive accomplishment.

Our expectations are so low now. It’s sad to see.

Do you fully understand how stars are awarded and that it is far from an exact science?

McCreary was a 3* but yeah we should have just told him to kick rocks.

Hunter was a 3* let’s kick him off the team he obviously sucks.

Nick Fairley was a 3* I cannot believe Auburn would stoop to sign such a lowly player.

Clown.

The teams with the most 4/5 stars (Alabama, Georgia, and Ohio State) all finished in the top 5 this season.

Disaster if we don’t land them.

It's going to suck but they were never coming to Auburn with all the uncertainty and upheaval going on.
Freeze has an in-home with them today.

Gus Malzahn got Carl Lawson and Montravious Adams in the 2013 class. There’s no excuse for Freeze not to land big names either.

Carl Lawson committed to Auburn on March 24th, 2012. Gus Malzahn was hired as the HC on December 4th, 2012.

Rodney Garner was hired directly away from Georgia where he was already recruiting Montravius Adams. Adams would have just ended up at Georgia with Garner regardless.

The convenient thing you failed to mention is that both of those two players were pulled away from Georgia while Mark Richt was the HC. Big, big difference there.

Freeze has been here for how many weeks? Your examples here just don't match or make much sense. If it was that easy to flip two instate Bama locks in 2-3 weeks on the job, then Saban wouldn't have cemented his legacy with this string of dominance now would he?

You will see elite recruiting from Freeze in 2024, I guarantee it. The expectation that he was going to come in here and take these two away from Alabama (THEY ARE MUST GETS FOR THEM) is idiotic and asinine. Freeze is doing major work and will sign a ~Top 15-20 class after the nightmare that Harsin left. The transfer portal class will be elite. But, there are realistic expectations that need to be held here.

I don't think you understand the situation we were in. We need bodies to just form a team rn. No rational person is thinking national championship in 2023.

He’s not a rational person, that’s the problem.

Have you been living under a rock or something? We are celebrating because we can't remember the last time we had more than one or two OL in the mix, let alone committed.

Yes - eventually we should be disappointed with courting just a bunch of 3* linemen, but right now Freeze (in 3 damn weeks) has had more recruiting success on the line than we've had in almost a decade...Hell yea we're going to celebrate.

No, our expectations are realistic right now. We barely have a relationship with some of the players we're begging to come here.
If we finish in the top 15 that will be an accomplishment for the 2023 class.

The state our OLine is in is sad. A 3* body is an upgrade and to fill in with depth is a big accomplishment with as little time as Freeze has had. 5*s aren't just going to run jump on board an unproven situation (after 2 or 3 weeks) when they have been recruited by programs and coaches for 2 or 3 years. People expecting that are clowns.

It has little to do with the 2023 season. The guys landed in this class make the biggest impacts when they’re sophomores/juniors/seniors 2-4 years from now.

Stidham is right, gotta get top 50 guys.

Not sure Freeze has enough time to close on guys like Russaw or Smith but we’ll need to see those kind of dudes in next class

We all know that an expect and uptick in quality of linemen recruited in the next cycle. What Stidham is saying, though, is it's stupid to celebrate the recruiting success Freeze has had in a very short window of time - even if it is more 3* than 4* and 5*.

I'm laughing at you thinking it is a disaster, not that we don't need top 50 players. You may be the most hyperbolic poster on this board, and that is saying something.

I don’t call landing 3 stars recruiting success.

Success is landing top 50-100 players.

I think we have to put things into perspective. We can't expect him to sign 4* and 5* right out the gate and the guy has been here 2 weeks. These blue chip prospects want to have relationships with their school and Harsin did not do that. Hugh seems to be doing his best but he is behind the eight ball. I personally think he is doing a pretty good job. Do I think he will ever be on par with what Georgia and Bama is doing right now?.....No, but I do believe he doesn't have to be with the offensive system he will be using.
I don't think we should be overreacting with two weeks on the job, not to mention the Early Signing Period is not in his favor to build relationships.

You can make all of the excuses in the world but at the end of the day it’s a failure if the class does not have any elite talent in it.

With our new football facility and NIL potential we should land big names.
