I said the original NIL thing they were trying to setup for the fans was stupid. No one was gonna "donate" $2500 a year for a damn picture, autograph, video call, or phone call.

Just start a damn go fund me put some lawyer that takes 5% as his pay for managing it and pay out equally to all players. Ask the fans to donate what they can. Bet we can get more done then what the these groups have been trying to do. They gotta get their millions lined up before they can start giving to the players. I saw that shite a mile away from the original NIL Auburn group. Even called it out on here in one of the threads

Part of Auburn’s problem is that there’s very little confidence in the program. And I think a lot of that is Harsin and how the past year and a half have gone — including both on the field results and the off-season investigation. Compare that to programs like Miami or UF that have confidence and enthusiasm in their programs.

We’re not completely sputtering out. The staff didn’t accidentally luck into six 4* recruits. Those kids are getting money and Auburn played the game and won on those guys (for now). But I think part of the reason why we’re way behind on volume of commitments is because we’re pretty consistently getting the rug pulled out from us by programs that are hungrier and whipping our arse in NIL. But as I said — NIL likely follows enthusiasm in the program and confidence in the coaching staff. We don’t have that.

Can’t separate everything and blame what’s convenient. It’s all related in my opinion. If Auburn wins games the money will come, confidence in the program will grow, and the recruits will follow. Until then I expect more of what we’re seeing.

It's a complicated situation and sick of the excuses but this staff was shitty recruiters before any of the end of the season stuff happen. They barely even acknowledged recruits until the ship was falling apart last November. We were 6-2 and what in the top 15 rankings yet still was getting no one on the trail. We heard all last year because of covid, because of this and because of that blah blah blah. Yet like I said earlier last week 4 of the top 10 teams in recruiting have first year coaches and with player rating and available spots they will finish there. I'm sure there is some excuse why they are able to but not us.

You strip away context for no reason. I’ve already said it. Auburn doesn’t have enthusiasm around the program. Most of it is because of the downward trend of results and continued uncertainty of the head coach’s job status.

Not at all discounting the fact that they’ve also failed to show that they’re good recruiters even before NIL. But combine everything that we’ve just laid out with the fact that boosters and fans have to now be motivated to land recruits and Auburn has a disaster on its hands until we win games or bring in someone that generates momentum and enthusiasm

Discounting any piece of the pie is foolish, IMO

On a positive (for now) note — I’m willing to believe that Harsin has a chance to turn the program around. He certainly seems to have buy-in from the current team and if we get off to a fast start and finish well then I do think this all could turn around quickly. But that’s a lot of if’s

I'm not so sure I'm ready to blame NIL for Lew yet. Reporters haven't really been shy say saying when NIL has been the issue.. For JLee to just say he's not at liberty to say anymore is strange to me and isn't something he normally does from the little I've seen of his coverage. Maybe I'm wrong, but very strange way for him to word it imo.

He's being cagey about it for sure.

I don't get too wrapped up in recruiting, but the OL busts have a real potential to impact the opportunity to get the Harsin era off the ground, and I'd very much like to see this staff get a real shot to make it work. It's pretty hard to watch TBH

Positive forward movement is a good thing, glacial pace but it’s in the right direction with quality… just need more of the same between now and October

I don’t really know why we’re suddenly out for Lew but it follows an increasingly annoying trend of the rug being pulled from under us in the last week or days of a kid’s recruitment

I’ve seen us lose alooooooot of commits. These just mostly feel weirder now. Anyway, just some late night crootin’ theories from Jones

100% correct, based on what we've seen are you willing to throw money in extra to support this staff with any expectation on a ROI? If we had a coach that inspired confidence and enthusiasm we would be able to raise a lot more money.

I don't know about this, none of the guys we have committed were probably coveted by any of the heavy hitters in the NIL game.

Chad Simmons is aware of Miami’s confidence but sticking with Aubrun for Lew.

He says Lew is torn.

Jeff Lee saying there are ”things working against Auburn outside of Auburn’s control” but he’s not at liberty to say is about the most gaslighting LAMP I’ve ever seen.

They always say this kind of stuff. When KN left for Florida, he posted a blog with what's wrong with AU. Just a whole bunch of boogie man stuff no one could ever try and verify.

Top 100 recruits win championships and we’re not in the conversation for them. It sucks to see but not shocking after what happened to Harsin in January.

Why commit on Aug. 5 if you are torn?
