Another 4 star... Up to 13th in the SEC rankings.
Ackchually

Up to 6th in the SEC in composite average per-recruit numbers. But we do have the fewest commits in the conference.

He just keeps plugging away. If one falls away, he plugs another one in there. And he keeps grinding and grinding. That is the Auburn spirit. Not afraid. frick all the haters which includes a lot of our “fans”. I hope Harsin wins and shoves it up everybody’s arse.

So do we all, but ain't gonna happen being 13th in recruiting. And yes, I know our star average and what now but the problem is who else is out there for us to get that's highly rated? We have missed on almost all of our top targets and don't seem to be in serious consideration for much of the top talent left.

A lot of the 4*’s we signed last season were identified pretty late as targets. This staff has seemed to have pretty good contingency plans so far.

Willing to see it out but we’ve missed on some studs so far that I thought we were in decent shape for

We are definitely in the waiting game now. it's very difficult to visit and watch high school players when you're trying to prepare the team for fall and the season.

We will get the late trickle of commits we expect over the week but I expect it to quiet down after that. Then on field performance will matter a lot to the remaining targets.

Would have been nice to be up to 12-14 commits but we aren't that was the disappointing thing coming out of summer.

That's my thoughts on it anyway

In case you haven’t noticed, recruiting has changed with NIL. We can’t seem to get our shite together as a school on the NIL front which is why recruiting is suffering.

As far as what he CAN control, he is doing it. He’s got a strategy and he is executing it despite overwhelming odds against him. For everyone he misses on he has three more that he’s recruiting to take their place. He has identified a deep roster of potential talent at each position especially because his so-called “boosters“ are stabbing him in the back. Yet all these assholes on here blaming Harsin for shite that’s out of his control is what drives me up the wall. Like getting another coach is going to help at this point. The guy is a winner if we’ll just let him do his thing. But we won’t because we’re JABA. Like Lee Iacocca once said, lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way.

FWIW. We don’t get Williams or English without NIL

I’m hopeful that the newest collective with the actual money guys puts us in the market for most of the guys we typically target. They’ve got realistic numbers planned

Definitely true there but HARSIN has been hit or miss on portal and lately depressing miss.

That’s a big gamble but he helped put himself there.

Everyone on the board keep saying NIL NIL is our issue. No players have said NIL was an issue. Has NIL been a clusterfrick? absolutely but it has been everywhere and I'm sure some have crossed the ncaa guidelines (looking at aTm last year with this thought). You can not "pay" a player to attend your university and if one thing you haven't learned since we brought in the NCAA guy years ago that any gray area in the rules we aren't even come close to the line. The money people at AU have always come through and will and probably are now. But will they pay a kid a million dollars to come here? I doubt it and I don't blame them.

The problem for some of us is that everyone isn't throwing money around like it's nothing. miss state isn't, ole miss isn't, South Carolina isn't, UF isn't, UK isn't.

Maybe there is a long plan by Harsin to wait until later in the cycle to try to match or beat some of the teams we are going against for a player. I would believe that if we closed strong last season. I would believe that was possible if we didn't go 0-fer on the late signing period.

I will challenge anyone to name a "booster" or board member with evidence that stabbed Harsin in the back.

I think I will wait until closer to signing day before anything with Hughley comes clear. Obviously he doesn't know what exactly he wants to do.

But again our staff fails to read the room with another player if what you said is true. Which should surprise no one at this point.

Maybe I missed the rules update or misunderstood but I thought the NCAA came out during the late winter with guidelines that you could not use money to "entice" a recruit to come to your school. Using university fund or NIL.

Now are backdoor deals being done behind the scenes? I'm sure there are but hell if we can just straight up pay players to come then we really do have shitty recruiters. And what difference would it make who the coach or program is because 99% of the players would go to the highest bidder

JLee says it’s because of reasons outside of Auburn’s control

We can keep pretending like NIL isn’t making a difference in these recruitments. But we’re not losing recruits to Kentucky, Miss State, Ole Miss, South Carolina or the like. And they’re really not recruiting well either. They have more volume but the volume is poorer quality

I’ve “covered”/followed auburn recruiting for a decade and I’ve never seen this many kids, committing this early, being so unpredictable with their choice.

I don’t think all of these battles are over. If our NIL gets in order then we’re going to flip some guys we’ve lost but it’s no mistake how quickly Auburn has gone from leading on guys to them swiftly picking elsewhere. We’ve always lost guys we’ve expected to land but never at this volume, never like this, and never this early. Not relinquishing Harsin or the results on the field from fault. Just my observations

You’re correct that the rules don’t allow it. You’re naive if you think anyone is following them. Including Auburn.

Saban didn’t mistakenly say A&M bought their recruiting class. Coaches and ADs aren’t begging for cash because they can’t offer that same cash to recruits. It’s silly to pretend it’s not happening

Auburn isn’t a victim. They’re just not doing it very well right now

I've followed recruiting since the forrest davis show.

And yes NIL i'm sure is a factor but Harsin or the staff in general is the outlier. So in your 10 years of following recruiting when has the staff been more wrong on players?

Seems things are humming right along the normal for most all other teams. We are the one outside of any normalcy in the conference. This year or even last year with the exception of the schools that changed coaches.
