Nothing would please me more than for Bo to receive critical feedback by way of setting the bench.

Harsin recently went through a season where he was starting his 3rd string QB. There’s not much after Bo

Chayil out, TJ Finley in is fine by me

so the path to starter for someone like Finley really isn't that big.

Correct even if he cant beat out Bo, what is it going to hurt to bring him in compete for QB2 and learn from Harsin for 2 years, he would take over in his JR season (since 2020 didnt count).

I don't know about Finley.

FIne if you want to bring him in to be a best available backup to BO, since he does have some SEC experience.

But to be our starter now or later? He couldn't even beat out 2 QBs at LSU as was 3rd string. If the other 2 were SEC calibre that he couldn't beat out or at least be even enough to make Ogeron wait until Fall to announce a starter, then how is he SEC material QBing for us?

If I am not mistaken he was a 3* coming out of HS. Yes he has the build and height...but what else?

You can say that about every transfer QB. Fields, Murray, Burrow, and so on. They all couldn’t beat out someone and tried somewhere else.

Not saying he’s Burrow. He could be Gatewood. But if we’re ending careers after a true freshman season then I don’t know what else to say here. I don’t know what you guys expect sometimes Our depth chart at QB is Bo, Loy, and Davis. Having Finley doesn’t hurt

Only slight concern is Geriner.. will the QB room start looking more crowded to him? I doubt it, but you never know these days.

Possible. KN recently said that they probably weren’t looking at a second QB now in this 2022 class. And with how guys can easily transfer now, I’m not sure I’d be concerned if I were him.

But you never know

I'm just playing devil's advocate on this guy, nothing more.

I agree that basically all we have is Davis, and ofc he was NOT a Harsin pick, so we don't know how he projects Davis into his offense.
ANd Finley can possibly be that emergency starter if something should happen to Bo going into the season.
I saw Finley have some really nice throws, so he can possibly be developed.

TJ has good fundamentals and a rocket arm. Probably a little overwhelmed as a true freshman that didn't go into the season expecting to start. Everyone liked the Max Johnson kid a little better after how he handled the end of the season but there was no pressure on the kid. The season was a bust and Johnson has a much much weaker arm then Finley. It'll be Brennan starter this year if injured again will be Johnson. Next year (2022) the starter will be Nussmeier.

We need a backup QB. We need someone to at least appear to push Bo. Win/Win in my opinion. Davis ain't pushing Bo ever.

JLee says he announces tomorrow morning.

These advance notice tweets are going to get old if this is what we’re waiting on
