2 RBs, including a JUCO, among our "5 key targets". I hope this isn't the coaches opinion.

OL, WR, and everywhere on defense need to be much bigger priorities.

In 2015, we'll have 2 scholarship RBs if Pettway doesn't make it in or plays HB. We need at least 4

Why? We lose 2 RB's this season.

Next year would like:
1. Barber JR
2. Roc SO
3. Pettway (possibly) FR or SO
4. Jovon Robinson JR
5. Insert a FR RB here

That's 5. We definitely don't need 6 RBs

EDIT: Nevermind. Read your post wrong.

I agree with OL being a huge priority this year but I disagree that running back wouldn't be. If running the ball is going to be our bread and butter then we need to stay loaded at the running back position. We lose Payne and Grant this year so we need two more to replace them and Barber and Thomas are both unproven on the college level.

The thing that shocks me is the 2 quarterbacks thing. We have Queen on board now and White and Johnson will be in place, 2 seems to be overkill.

It seems to me that Malzahn is kind of on the path of...let's take 1 true QB, and then a superior ATH who can play QB if needed and run his read option based offense, like we did last year. If not, he can play WR or DB.

The ultimate weapon will obviously be a guy that can throw and run at a high level, but we have yet to truly see a QB do that in his offense yet. If Marshall's throwing improves this year, it might be that moment. I feel like Johnson is going to be that guy, though next year. I say that because I think he'll be a better passer than Marshall, and will be able to effectively run when he needs to. The defense will have to pick it's poison.

Ummmm....yeah, nevermind.

It's just one of those days. It's Friday. I'm busy with work, but I don't want to work and my mind is obviously elsewhere.

Jovon Robinson might end up back at Auburn after all.

That's great news. So no one really knew when they were speculating that auburn cut a deal with the NCAA to wash our hands clean of jovon?

The way Ben Tate, Mike Dyer, and True Mason shined in Gus's offense top running backs should want to come to Auburn. Every one of them were good before Gus but the offense showcases a running backs talent.

Whoever our feature back is next year will look great as well.

I watched one Tulsa game with Gus as OC and I remember the RB looking good.

I heard today that there actually was a deal, but that the NEW coaching staff went back to the NCAA and made a case that the coaching staff under which the violation occurred was no longer present, so the current coaching staff should be able to recruit him.

If that was the case, seems like the NCAA agreed.

Dey our bitches.

I've posted this two or three times (no offense).

Check the Jovon Robinson thread allin2010 made on the SEC Recruiting Board. Inside are quotes from Bryan Matthews regarding the situation.

So what's one more time?

That Ncaa stuff always sounded manufactured. Either way it's exciting. Sorry to put you out.

How did it sound manufactured? You seriously think we just chose to not recruit a RB that looked freakish in camp for us before he had to leave? A guy that put up video game numbers in JUCO last year?

The NCAA stuff was obviously real. We didn't just out of the blue decide to start recruiting Jovon Robinson.

Agreed. It seemed like paysite guys trying to connect dots without any real info.

NCAA info always comes out eventually via FOIA requests... just may take a while.
