So has everyone committed or flipped to us yet?

I just hope that this helps lock down Tony Bridges for good (but Ole Miss beating Bama hurts that hope), and we get a lot of great praise when the OV's are over.

I wish Florida would have lost to help get Muschamp out of there so we could make a huge push at locking up Holland and Ivey. Ivey not committing to us makes me nervous, he is a big get for us this year. Holland would be a great get to go along with some really good linebackers.

Do we have any defensive linemen in town this weekend?

Ole Miss also has former 5* Tee Shepard coming back next year. That has to hurt with Bridges.

I just don't see him saving his job. It sucks because I like him, but it would take a miracle for him to save his job.

He would have to do a complete 180 and win out and beat an unbeaten FSU.

Apparently we brought all the legends out for Jeff Holland this weekend. He said he got to hang out with Barkley, Bo, and Pat Dye

As promised I did some work on Mr. Rochester Friday night and yesterday.

Crystal Ball to AU today.

Coincidence? I think not.

It's more likely that would have the opposite affect in Florida's recruits. CWM is one of the few misses in Foley's UF hiring career. If CWM is let go then Foley will not hire another unproven assistant this time. He will go after and get a big fish. That would reenergize this year's UF recruits. The best thing for AU is CWM to do just enough to keep his job.

A Florida shite show and CWM staying would do it for us...

I saw on Al.com that Jeff Holland had a conversation with Pat Dye during his visit this weekend, anyone know how that went

I think the best thing is for Muschamp to be fired mid season. That way Ivey and Holland could possibly commit to us instead of waiting for months on a new staff

I don't want UF to make a splash hire at HC and pick up Ivey. Muschamp getting fired midseason and them appointing an interim coach is best case for us from where I''m sitting

Coaching carousel has been pretty bare lately. Seems like most obvious guys to jump up the ladder have done so. Not like there is a Saban/Meyer waiting to be hired (Chizik ). Also, seems like lately most teams/coaches that are doing well have built their programs and are staying.

If they were smart they'd try and lure away the Northwestern Coach not that I think he leaves (alma mater)

Yeah. Foley is not going to make a dumb move like that.

Don't forget Florida is a top 5 job in the country. Foley could likely get any already HC he wants from all but maybe 10 schools in the country. For example Bob Stoops still has a home near there and there are rumblings he would be interested if Florida came for him. Also if Mullen can go 10-2 or better this year I can easily see him leaving Miss St for a more prestigous job.

So it Texas yet they seemed to have had to go for a bottom choice. I think Stoops is the only "elite" coach they could lure to UF. Most coaches considered can't miss guys already seem pretty entrenched in their locations.

I think the smart hires though wouldn't be Stoops but Mullen or the Northwestern coach. Fitzgerald has made 5 bowl games, has a 10 win season and a solid start at Northwestern. A private school, sub 10k in undergrads and no football history to look back to.

Not that I agree with Texas' opinion but I don't think they consider Strong a bottom choice by any stretch of the imagination.

I don't know about elite but there are a couple of very good coaches I could see Foley luring away from their current job barring buyouts of contracts, Mark Dantonio and Hugh Freeze.

Unless we completely implode, and it could happen with our schedule.

I think we land 1 of these 3

Kirk Merritt
John Burt

I don't see Strong as Texas first choice or second choice.

Mark Dantonio I forgot about. Don't think he would be that good in SEC but would qualify as elite hire. I don't see Hugh Freeze leaving Ole Miss, his hometown school, when he is on track to go down as one of their all time great coaches

Never said nor implied he was. Saban and Jimbo were likely 1 & 2 on their list. Your original phrase was bottom of the line. I just don't think Texas sees Strong that way.

Only time would tell and people said the same about Urban coming from Utah also.

Very possibly the case. There have been a number of coaches go both ways in this case. Same stayed with their school. Some have taken the bigger, better job.
