Why are you being sensitive? Just meaning I don't respect him as a coach. He's average at best.

His performance in the BCSCG is nothing to write home about so I am not sure what he has to sling.

Kids aren't smart enough to see that, or to see through the obvious tactics.

Pruitt is the defensive Lane Kiffin.

JMO but it's too early to judge him like that and not legit to use the BCSNCG as evidence of the opinion. After halfway through the year No team was going to stop our offense, especially our run game. We had over 300 rushing versus Bama and near 300 versus FSU. The were 2 of the best Ds in the nation last year. Our O, especially the run game was just too damn good.

Now as for what I know about Pruitt as a whole, he been on very good defenses his whole high school and college career. He orchestrated dominant D's at Hoover for 4 or 5 years. He's been associated with good D's in college being an assistant at Bama and walking into a stacked D at FSU. UGA's secondary is struggling bad this year, mainly due to injuries and players having to leave the program. I think it will be a couple of years more at UGA before we truly know if he's a good coach or just been on good D's by association. If he makes the pups a very good D in a couple of years then it will be hard to argue him being a good coach whether we like him or not.

Well he won't have to be a very good coach to have a good defense with the players they are bringing in.

You could say that about every DC under St. Richt. Dream Teams, 5*'s all over, tons of kids in the NFL, and still no Natty. (Been a minute since they won an SEC as well) Some can't cut it because of partying, some get into legal issues, and they miss like everyone else at times.

Pruitt won't be there longer than two years. Same with Rocker.

Incorrect. Almost every player has to be developed no matter how good of a prospect they are coming out of high school. Look at AU under Chiz. We recruited at a top 10 level through his tenure yet 2012 happened because players were not developed for the most part. Yes Bama is a recruiting machine but for the most part they develop their 2 deep very well for the college level.

I said he won't have to be a "very good" coach. Sure if he's terrible and the program totally falls apart like ours did it won't matter but even a half decent coach can turn a bunch of five stars into a strong unit.

I partially disagree. Bama has a system in place that develops them for THEIR system only, but does very little to develop them overall as a player for the next level. They're quite poor at it, actually. Their "situational substitutions" typically put those players on the field in positions to do only what they do well and Saban doesn't really ask them/make them do much outside of that. Instead of coaching them up and making them well rounded, he plugs them in to do what they do well only. I will say that Malzahn has been guilty of this with wide receivers as well though. If they suck at running a corner route, that WR will never line up to run a corner route.

Couple this in with the fact that they basically get the first 25 picks of each "college draft" and it really is quite evident that they don't develop nearly as well as people are led to believe.

There is no disagreement between those 2 statements as far as I can see my friend.

I mean does he prefer developing kids for the NFL and not winning like UGA or developing kids for his system, not the NFL, and winning championships?

Anyone see any possibility of a flip if UGA loses a couple more?

Nope. It's gonna take enough of a colapse to create a total staff turnover. I don't see that happening. I think even if UGA goes 8-4 which is likely the worst they can do now, Richt and company survive the year.

Meh. Outside of Richt and the entire staff getting fired, I don't see him flipping

I realize you guys know that I dislike uGA a smidgen. I called one of my friends who told me about the kids who were talking after visits to Athens about what they are saying about other schools. Told me last night CJP is unhappy with the way uGA-AD is backtracking on promises made to him. He was very anxious to get outta Tallahassee, and may not have researched his decision as well as he wishes he had. My friend loves his dawgs, but agrees w/ me that CJP won't be there too long unless things change. They won't...

Sorry, I just thought I would share since it will impact AU recruiting eventually.
