Javy- Not SEC level.

He's a RFr who needs to add size, but there's nothing yet to suggest he isn't an SEC level player. There isn't anything to suggest he is yet either, but it's a pretty big assumption to make to say he isn't either.

My biggest concern with someone as big as Evans at Star is coverage. Once he gets into the weight program, he's going to put on weight. They can keep him from bulking up too much, but he's got to keep his speed to play star. If he can do it and cover well, I'm all for it.

I disagree about Mackenro not being on the same planet as Evans athletically. Did you ever watch any of his HS film? He did not get on campus until June I think it was, yet he has still managed to play well as a True FR in the SEC. Marginal athletes do not come close. He is a bit smaller and more of a "DB-ish" type STAR than a "LB-ish" type STAR IYKWIM. I do agree with your overall point that he would be a better run-stopper. Both of them are versatile, which is the definition of a STAR.

Good. Craig should always accompany Malzahn when recruiting.

He really likes to punish the tackler. I love that in a RB.

HS football guy on the radio just said the same thing. People in North Alabama say he's the best RB they've seen since Cadillac.

Auburn offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee and defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson will be featured tonight on Gus Malzahn's weekly radio show, Tiger Talk, at 7 p.m.

Malzahn is on the road recruiting (he is reportedly checking in on receiver commitment D'haquille Williams) and will not appear live on the show.

He is, IMO.

He's better than Yeldon is/was.

they have similar styles... cadillac was shorter and stockier coming out of high school, iirc. Thomas is long and lean... has the frame to carry more weight.

He may have the best jump-cut I've ever seen.
