From The War Room:

- Rashaan Evans plans to visit Georgia and UCLA at the beginning of the season and then have an October decision before visiting AU and Bama. Hoke thinks UGA leads

- Jason Smith has decided to go to JUCO instead of Prep school. He'll RS this season, play next season, and enroll next January as a RS Sophomore.

- Like 247 reported, Ronnie Clark is torn. It's a toss-up right now, but his dad apparently likes Auburn more, but will let Ronnie make his own choice.

- Stephen Roberts has visited alot, and if we show improvement overall and defensively this season, a flip could happen.

More details
-Evans' dad playing at Auburn is not the advantage it should be. Alan Evans is not pressuring Rashaan to Auburn or anywhere. It's Rashaan's choice. Moving away from AU was not just fluff by Rashaan. Sources say he has a strong urge to leave the city of Auburn. Evans also wants to know if Auburn is back. How Auburn plays could be a big factor in Auburn getting Evans.
-Auburn is letting Casher breathe right now. Auburn is not in a hurry to get a C because they believe they can get Casher back and will work to do so in the Fall. With Bama and FSU having Cs in their classes now Auburn should be the best spot for Casher.
-3* WR Myron Burns could be a hot target if Gus gets in his corner and let's an offer be made. Some assistants are in his corner now.
-Key with trying to flip Roberts in team competitiveness and defensive performance
-3* WR Jesse Jackson will OV Auburn at some point. Miss St and Ole Miss lead. He will visit with high 4* 2015 teammate OT Javon Patterson.

I went to Auburn. My wife went to Auburn. My brothers went to Auburn.

I could give two shits about where my kids go to school. I went somewhere that was special to me. It should be special to them and line up with what they want to do/study (as long as it's not Alabama).

I came awful close to going to UGA for the sake of getting out of town and away from my parents. Definitely understand where he's coming from in that regard, and a little bit of me still wishes I'd have done it.

ETA: I'm from Auburn

An Article about Deshaun Davis and Tre Williams will be out today on Rivals. Here's a teaser quote from Tre Williams:
quote:

"I was down to Alabama and Florida State, but when I visited Auburn I was like man I see why they committed so early. I fell in love with it right away. I talked to Coach Craig on the phone and I was like I've got to commit, I just got it. I sat down and I talked to my family and they were behind me 100 percent. Once I committed, that's when Coach Craig came up to me and said, "The change is here." I was like what do you mean? How can I make a difference? He just said it wasn't about how I played, but it was more about how I carried myself. The fact that I love the game of football so much and when other people see where I am going they are going to want to visit Auburn. Ever since then Coach Craig has called me that leader. After Josh de-committed, I talked to Deshaun and Coach Craig and he said that he really didn't want us to go anywhere of course. Deshaun said that the only way he was going to de-commit is if something really bad happened or if I de-committed. I was like what? Why would it be because of me? He basically said that I was the leader of this thing. It gave me the responsibility as that leader to stick to it. That's really helping me out because I've got to step up to the plate. It's a big role, but I'm ready for it."

In case anyone is wondering Jason Smith still counts in the 2013 class and will count to the 2014 class if he enrolls in January 2015.

I think we were in pretty good position until we had to stop recruiting him for a while. After that though, it never looked good.
