Well somewhere in this big thread I said we will lose Casher. Not looking for any kind of e credit because I am still disappointed. Oh well we win some and lose some. Not an AU man til LOI is signed.

Ill will? No, I don't wish him ill will.

I wish him a long life with a loving family.

Football-wise? I couldn't care less if he succeeds or flames-out. Not my concern now.

After watching Marshall's hudl film, I actually think we should offer. He looks strong, has good technique, and gets to the second level easily on plays that require it. All he needs is the extra weight, which like E said, he'll have time to do

Craig just knowing his is a boss. Not worried about anything with him on the prowl. So damn glad he is back at Auburn.

In my not so expert opinion, I just don't see him being the future at center. Again, I'm no expert...

But, I still stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, and I did save a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico. So, there's that... PIMP MODE ON.

Ya know. I would not be surprised if Gus turns the tables by sicking Craig on Clark to seal the deal there. He is a kid Bama definitely wants and needs.

Most teams don't have highly-rated guys at center. Most centers are smart guys with technique that develop later on. That's why I like Marshall. In his film, he looks to have advanced technique for a HS prospect. I have no idea how good Grimes is as an OL coach, but if he's any good, he could develop Marshall to take over down the road

I haven't even seen film, TBH. I'm waiting on the video to load up so I can watch it.

I see what you're saying, but it's about time someone other than Craig delivered. Craig can't build a top ten class on his own.

A lot of the best centers are high school offensive tackles that are undersized/not athletic enough to continue playing tackle. Most project in recruiting rankings as offensive guards in the 6'3-6'5 range

Just look at the guys who got drafted. Over 2/3s were not ranked in the top 20 of offensive guards and only a couple were even rated as centers

There are a whole bunch of kids that fly under the radar playing OT at a HS that doesn't get a lot of press and don't show up to big name camps. They don't fit the prototypical size of an OT and often don't have the weight for OG yet so they aren't ranked high

Not quite sure what you mean. Garner has locked up Lawson, got Elijah Daniels, Ben Bradley, Montravious Adams and now Devaroe Lawrence and Rashard Kennion. Considering UGA people say he was over the hill and didn't care about recruiting, pulling out some big names and analyzing kids like Kennion enough to give him an offer would indicate he is doing well on the trail

We really just need to start having Coach Cheese and Coach Smith to start pulling some weight. Cheese especially since he is known as a recruiter. He put is in the running with a lot of kids but hasn't come through and we aren't after very many big name guys at DB this year either. I don't think anyone espects Grimes or Fountain to bring home the stars.

Grimes
I have heard is better at recruiting then he is given credit for (not great just better) and if he is a solid coach we should see some diamonds in the rough turned into solid coaches.

Ellis Johnson I am told does almost next to no recruiting.

Never heard Melvin Smith talked about really either but he pulled Deon Mix and we are in it for MS kids here and there just hard with Freezus. I didn't expect him to be a home run hitter

Cheese
I am told is a really good recruiter and does very well. He just hasn't produced results. He reminds me of Luper while at AU. Luper was supposedly a good recruiter but he never produced much at AU. After Dyer, we struck out with literally every RB we were in the running for

Horton
I was told isn't that great of a recruiter. Described as what your stereotypical dad would be like. Just isn't super exciting and doesn't "connect" with recruits like a Craig, Garner or Cheese. He has a great track record with RBs which I'd imagine helps. He just isn't "super cool" like Craig for instance. Doesn't help that his background is AR which only has so many recruits too. He doesn't seem to be a hired gun type recruiter but rather does his job gets some talent and is focused more on development of that talent.

Scott Fountain
I've heard is pretty cool and fun but just isn't going to bring home the stars and he does TEs/ST so I don't think anyone expects him to all things considered

Craig's legit, but Lashlee and Garner are excellent recruiters. Harbison and Smith will put in the work as well.

This is a solid recruiting staff

Never said or he implied he could but he is a hell of a closer. Give him his own prospects to recruit and let him metaphorically run the last leg of the 4x100 relay with the rest.

This. Look at Vlachos at Bama. Kid never played center once in his life until he got to Bama. Them starts for 3 or 4 years or however many it was. Strong kid with real good technique.

Very few kids who project at center or even offensive guard play that position in HS or have ever played that position in HS.

Casher for isntance played OT.

Typically when they "project" at OG or OC, it just means they are the best OL on their team (which usually plays OT) and they aren't big enough to play OT (read as sub 6'5-6'6 or slow)

No doubt last year was good.

I'm looking for something this year and it just doesn't seem we hear anything other than Craig and a little bit of Lashley and Rodney.

I hear ya. I'm just sick of being worked by Bama over and over. Blowing off steam.

The real question is if he pulls another HS DT that can play as well as if he develops our young DTs (Adams, Nero and Bradley). Improved line play this year (even if it is by defulat since we can't be so shitty again) will show prospects he can coach which will solidify him as a good recruiter and coach

He has Devaroe Lawrence and he had him hook line and sinker. There is also a great chance we get Devonte Lambert which would be a huge pull. Justin Thornton is a DCraig kid but you have to bet that Garner had a hand in it. Hard to sell coming down to AU without talking with your position coach

We should get one of the relatively high rated DEs like Andrew Williams

We just need to pull a good HS DT and I would like a high ceiling project DT
