TCU people still believe they are the favorite since his sister attends there.

They have a point but that is something people hold onto even if all information points in the other direction.

Braden seemed to have reached out to AU, his coach seems very impressed with AU and pushes us and all the accounts of his visit went well. Got to imagine we are making a very strong push and TCU may have the lead but they have their work cut out to hold it

A&M people didn't seem too optimistic. Felt like he was a desire not need and that they didn't expect him.

As polydorr said, TCU has his sister in school but he at least claims that isn't as big a deal as people think and it won't be the biggest factor

TCU has fallen off terribly in the past few years as far as "relevancy" goes. I can't imagine with Smith getting so much recent exposure from big time programs that he would still choose TCU whether his sister goes there or not.

My petition to change Braden's full name to Braden Engström still hasn't caught on. Smith is just too pedestrian of a name for him.

That would make me not choose said school.

Grimes is selling him on coming in to replace Robinson(or be the next in line after Robinson's replacement is done). Redshirt a year, get some experience for a year, then be the starter for 1 or 2 years and on to the league.

I really want to get him, mainly because I feel like we need at least one high school OL in this class, but also because it sounds like he's a badass.

My sister was at Auburn my Freshman year and I saw her maybe once a month and we're pretty close. Definitely didnt factor into my decision at all when picking a college.

The pitch to Braden hasn't been about starting early or draft status, it's been about the auburn way of life and academics. He's not really interested in much else. FWIW, I think he liked that aspect of his visit but I think that he wasn't exactly a social butterfly. That's my biggest concern so far

I'm sure that's a big part of it, but I can't imagine they aren't pitching Auburn as a route to the NFL with Robinson being a top 10 pick. What I was saying came from AUC before his visit, I believe.

He does seem like a pretty quiet kid, so hopefully he's feels comfortable enough that he doesn't need his older sister there for him in college and can go somewhere else on his own.

I don't know what TCU's campus is like, but I feel like a kid from Kansas could definitely feel at home in a place like Auburn.

I think so too, and certainly that's a selling point. First round draft money buys a lot of land and livestock.

From his Dad per 247 I believe. Braden wants to go where he is or feels needs. In his dad's words getting Smith as the only High School OL in this class combined w/ G-Rob leaving early shows need to them

The first college I would eliminate would be the one my sister attends.

Especially if she was the one showing off her boobies on the Jerry Tron at the lspoo game.
