I need to book a trip of there and see what's up. If you had to pick the best time to be on Lanier, when would it be? Buddy in my bass club is from Georgia. He said the largemouth fishing is good there too.

The absolute best month is probably May but most of the cold weather months are good. Late February is good for jerkbaits, March is a dock fishing month for the most part. April is our spawn and we basically fish shallow. May, we start to get some fish move out which is very nice. June is topwater all day. My second favorite month next to December.

Look back a few posts and email me. I have a question about some tackle stores in Alabama

Greg Ostendorf ?@GregO_ESPN In-state RB Johnathan Ford just received an #Auburn offer. Ford is a #Vandy commitment, but he grew up a fan of the Tigers.

I was wondering if we were gonna offer him.

Looms like he runs a similar type of offense in High School. He looks quick and can cut. I don't know what type of competition he's going up against though. How did he do in the AL-MS game?

Dated Article

Kid sounds solid to Vandy. Watched some highlights and it looked like they played a bunch of slow white kids.

I can respect that.

With all awareness of my lack of knowledge about the subject made perfectly clear, could this mean we missed on Green or am I being presumptuous?

I was wondering if we were going to go after a shifty, speed back. Good to hear, hopefully we can get him

It could but as long as Malzahn is visiting Green on Thursday still I wouldn't worry about that at the moment.

Possibly, but I doubt it. If DG had told our coaches he wasn't coming here, I highly doubt CGM and staff would still be doing an in-home visit with him on Thursday.

I think the sudden offers to Ford and Corn Elder are for the speed back role in CGM's offense. It's a totally different role in his offense, and CGM needs both types of backs for his system to be as productive as possible.

No. The coaches want 3 RBs in this class. Ford is expressly recruited for the Omac Role. Green and Barber have priority over Wilkins for the other spot IMO.

Corn Elder would be perfect for the O'mac role. Don't know if we are on him or offered him, but he is electric.

LINK

edit- Rivals shows him having many offers, but not from AU.

Man this class is going to end up such a dud. Get ready to be rebuilding yet again in 3-4 years.

We hired good recruiters, but even the best recruiters usually can't come in fresh and have a great recruiting year in 2 months (I don't remember Saban tearing it up his first signing day.)

Whatever recruiting shortfalls we have this year we will make up in the next two years.

Also, we can use JUCO's to fill the gap or two which may exist.

I am not worried about long term recruiting with this staff.

Yeah, I look at this class like our 2009 class. We had a great recruiting staff then, but we had to piece together that class. We have lost some big guys, but we will probably pick up a good surprise or two. Semi-sacrificing this class was worth getting rid of our previous staff.
