Florida has a great defense but you can't ask them to stay on the field that long especially since the shite depth due to injuries. I didn't watch it but I would imagine that UF did well through the first half then shite the bed

I can't tell if I'm being an unbridled homer or if I'm seeing things correctly. If memory serves Rick Trickett used to love the huge widebodied OL's and that definitely seems to be the case with FSU. They seem huge.... and a little slow. Same for the D-line. The reason I mention this is because Winston struggles a little bit when under pressure and the redshirt freshman in him surfaces. He's no Johnny Manziel. Great wide receivers but again they seem slow when compared to Florida.

I guess my point is that to my eye there is a speed differential between Florida and FSU and I'm just curious if anyone else gets the same impression.

One game to look at is the BC game. FSU won but it was FSU closest game. BC has a great RB... 48-34.

The game that folks look at the most is the Clemson game and FSU destroyed them.

The ACC was very weak.

We have been through the battles, they have not.

But the biggest reason I believe we win is destiny.

I love that people on the rant believe out of all the SEC teams we are the least likely to win our bowl game.

We've been disrespected all year long and our team realizes that. We're gonna put on a show.

Saban did 2010 coverage and he represented the SEC well

I agree, but when re-watching after getting home from glendale and hearing him trip up on the 'i think if he keeps it we, i mean oregon, goes in for 6 here.'

I know it shouldn't but damn that really pissed me off.

Saw on the bunker someone talking about the advantage of Jeremy Johnson in game prep as he resembles Winston. Anyone else think about this?

Jameis Winston and Jeremy Johnson seem cut frmo the same mold. Dangerous pocket passers who have the athletic ability to run and hurt teams if they leave holes open.

I doubt FSU has a player who can run and throw like Nick Marshall

What I've watched of FSU consists of approximately the first half of the Duke & Florida games. FSU's O-Line is EXTREMELY vulnerable. Winston did not respond very well to pressure. Additionally, his scrambling ability seems way over-hyped.

Dee Ford, Carl Lawson, and all the rest of the crew could have an amazing game. I expect AU's O to run all over them.

ETA: In regard to the lines, FSU seems to overwhelm other teams simply by depth. Florida/Duke couldn't keep up. Florida definitely couldn't due to injuries. Florida's D-Line was lethal to FSU's offense while Florida was fresh. Lack of depth was a huge difference.

FSU vs. Auburn Questions By FloweryBranch NOLE on Dec 10 2013, 12:01p 47 I live in Metro Atlanta and am constantly flooded with SEC Dominance talk through the local paper, blogs, etc. I can't believe from what I've been hearing (David Pollack on ESPN or these SEC homer local bloggers) that FSU is the favorite in this game....by a lot. I'm struggling with a couple of things, Tomahawk Nation - please help me understand. 1. FSU is not "battle tested" and therefore we MUST have a disadvantage against Auburn, who has been "battle tested" about 5 times. To me that sounds like something an "expert" once said on a show that stuck with everyone and now you can't possibly win a game, unless you are BATTLE TESTED !!!. On the other hand, it also tells me you almost lost 5 times. FSU has not 'almost lost' this year. 2. From an analytical point of view, I would say that our D is on par (+/-) with Alabama (gave up 21 points to AU) and our O is better than Missouri's (scored 42 points). I wouldn't be surprised if we won 45 - 20. All this talk about Auburn's running game. That is all they do. Use GT as an example, when a team has even two weeks to figure them out, they get beat, or even a month (look at their bowl game records/scores of late). I think we have plenty of time to figure them out. 3. The last point to make to the AU nation. If you had not caught that hail mary against UGA - you would be in the chick-fil-a bowl. If you had not returned a missed field goal against bama (and lost on the FG kick or in OT) you would be in the Music City Bowl. Just because you won those games does not make you a better team than if those plays hadn't gone your way. What would the spread be if Auburn had lost those two games? I submit to you that it would be way north of 8.5 points. I think the luck has run out, Noles win BIG.

For starters, we scored 28 points against bama... not 21.

I've seen that same post for 9 out of the 13 weeks now. Everyone thinks we can only do one thing on offense and will be stopped. They also say how bad our D is and will dominate us and win by 3+ TD's.

They think they are the only ones who will be preparing for the bowl game. Our D-line and O-line will be the difference. We will win this championship, and our guys will show them what battle tested and SEC dominance means.

I love that their mindset is this way and I hope their team and coaches are the same. It reminds me of what Alabama and Missouri folks said pregame and the reason for the meltdowns afterwards when reality didn't meet expectations.

It's also hard to take someone serious that says we only scored 21 on Alabama's defense.

As to SEC dominance, when you win 7 BCS national titles in a row against the Big 10, Big 12 and PAC 1#, what do you expect? For us to say we got lucky?

Put Auburn in the ACC and I doubt they'd had 5 near losses much less any. They point to the LSU loss which is great, it shows they don't get what happened in that game or understand how long Marshall had been on campus at that point.

I love how everyone talks about the Georgia game as if we weren't up by 20+ points going into the 4th quarter and suffered a collapse.

With the Alabama game, people act as if it was a foregone conclusion that we would have lost in OT. Alabama was stalled inside the 30 yard line like 3 or 4 times in the second half and never broke inside the 10. They had no FG kicker that was consistent. Auburn wins that game in OT and that is why Saban kicked the FG in the first place. Last shot effor to not lose in OT

Iron Bowl drives 60+ yards

Alabama drives- 3 (one was 99 yd TD pass)

Auburn Drives - 4

BTW, if FSU is so good, then what are the chances they'd been in the BCS NCG if Alabama and Oregon had remained undefeated? 0.

Exactly, which is far from being true. Why do you think Saban went for a low percentage FG and absolutely had to have that 1 second? He knew Auburn was ready to bring it in the OT and his team was tired. AU was rushing it on his D at will. His offense couldn't finish it in the red zone.

I heard PF say this last week that Saban and his team was one play from playing for a 3rd NC in a row. Really?

Now look, this world is a rotten place and I doubt God cares that much about a CFB game.

But if He did, and he wanted to bless Auburn with The Catch, so be it. But He also blessed us with a lesson on what happens when you get a 3 TD lead and start to think you can put it on autopilot.

Now silliness aside, something tells me that lesson would pay dividends at some point, maybe it did with Mizzou, but what if we're up 3 TDs against FSU in the 4th? Letdown again? Doubt it.

The benefits of playing in the SEC is you have QBs like Murray and Johnny, defenses like Alabamas, WRs like Mizzous and so on, it pays off in the BCS NCGs. Ask Florida and LSU when everyone doubted them.
