Getting curbstomped by NMSU was damaging, but this season already sucked amidst a season of little expectations and I think Freeze can stand to learn from this. I have already acknowledged the history of perplexing losses, but he has made two big six bowls, and has proven he can win too.

Yea. I’m not saying he is a bum but if this loss is what freeze does, is that something we are ok with? We did not get Beat on the roster. We got beat by being unprepared and the team was totally flat. That is his job and it sounds like he does this at times where ever he goes.
He didn’t get beat by 21 at home because Nee Mexico was more talented. He didn’t utilize the talent he has in his 11th game.
We have been praising him for three weeks for going on a winning streak but now he shits the bed with that same team. I’m sorry it is on him.

I guess it depends on what we’ll be happy with. I mean we’ve shown we’re not happy with 8-10 win seasons. I’m not sure Freeze can do any better than that, especially if he has a WTF game once a year.
I’m also not advocating for firing the guy. I just don’t have much faith that he’s the guy either.

Auburn needs to invest in some home run coordinators on both sides of the ball. Roberts has been decent but Montgomery is horrible!

Firing him would be silly but I will say that my outlook on him changes. This loss will be bigger on him than people realize. His hole got deeper and his fight got harder. People will not just forget this.

Biggest disappointment about today was what appeared to me to be a lack of effort on the part of the players

I agree. By far his worst showing. But the players didn't help matters by fanning at the guys they were trying to tackle. When the game started I was like these guys seem dead in the water....no effort

I get Corch’s stance. Just a game, means nothing long term maybe. But this sort of loss is a mainstay in Freeze’s resume. It was one of my biggest flags when we were going through the latest iterations of coaching search threads
