That sums up exactly what I’m talking about. If a football game means more then soul of a young adult you have major problems and need to evaluate your priorities

If we are paying Hugh Freeze almost $7M per year to save souls, I think we should have just saved a lot of damn money and hired a professor of ministry and/or Bible studies.

Hugh Freeze publicly makes his religious beliefs a topic of conversation. Newspaper articles. Publicly published pictures of baptisms. If he (or anyone who supports him) wants his beliefs to remain private or non-criticizable, then he just needs to STFU and keep his beliefs and practices behind closed doors.

Until then, we hired him to win FOOTBALL GAMES, not to flippin' save souls. If he wants to establish his sainthood, he'd be better advised to move into a church or temple than the Auburn Athletic Offices.

But I'm betting Brother Hugh ain't willing to give up his mansion or his lake-house though.

I wonder what Christ would think about Hugh's millions and mansions and properties and investments? Flying around on private jets? Fancy cars? You want to address that part of Christ's teaching?

Were Christ's true evangelists millionaires?

Matthew 19:24: “And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.”

So will you do the right thing and go out and win the souls that Hugh can't because he is too busy winning football games?

Nope. He just knew the nature of rich people and what they worshipped over and above all else (hint: not God the Father).

When those rich who make sure that the media publishes their Christian goodness and baptisms and soul-saving sell all their fancy cars, houses, and vacation homes and give all that money away, I'll believe in their sincerity. (P.S. Christ had a special word for those who made sure everybody else in the world knew how "virtuous" they were... can you guess it?)

Until then? Camels.

Nope.

I've never professed to be anything but a failed and fallen soul.

Doesn't mean I don't believe in God, Christ, and the tenets of Christianity though. Am I hell bound? Maybe... probably. But at least I won't be placed in the circle of hell where they put the hypocrites. I can burn for all my other weaknesses, but hyprocrisy ain't one of'em.

The current discussion comes from the fact that I stated that Hugh should place more importance into winning football games than saving souls. The two who disagree with me seem to believe we should continue to pay Hugh millions per year so that he can prioritize souls over football games.

I disagreed.

Bruce understands that he needs to win basketball games and he does.

DIFFERENCE.

Are you effin serious? Momentum? This is a historic loss. Wake the hell up. This is damaging. Quit fricking sunshine pumping and making simp arse excuses. This should not happen. Do you want to be a mid tier program or a champion? You folks are not winners making excuses.

You are losers!!!!!

It is pretty silly to assume Hugh prioritizes saving souls over winning.

I don’t think that. It’s his facade. Truth is, he’s not a good football coach.

My issues aren't for discussion on this AUBURN SPORTS BOARD.

Auburn HEAD FOOTBALL COACH Hugh Freeze's issues? They are. LOTS of excellent football coaches throughout history were Christian without the public, media-begging "look at me! look at me! I'm baptizing players! look at me! i don't sleep with hookers anymore!" version of Christianity that Brother Hugh brings to the table.

"Facade" is a good word that works well alongside "hypocrisy".

Freeze slept with hookers? Hmm haven't ever seen evidence of that but whatever. Certainly glad for his sake he isn't doing it now.
