How long before the Braves announce the same? And how will you respond?

Could be a matter of days. Or we get out unscathed. This time.

I always thought we’d get the benefit of the doubt due to the name not being derogatory at all plus our efforts to distance from the image of native Americans themselves. Doesn’t seem likely to be enough long term.

The mob will come after us, especially if Cleveland and Washington cave. Kind of amazing Redskins still exists.

Dan Snyder has told the cancel mob to shove it up their asses for years. I'm guessing sponsor money is why he's caving now.

What about the Minnesota Vikings?

The Vikings were a bunch of heterosexual white men that raped and pillaged. I'm surprised the SJW lynch mob hasn't come for them.

I don't see the Braves having to change their name, just because it's not a derogatory term, but an honorific.

The Braves should jump the route the cancel mob is running, and reach out to some Native American groups to begin talking about how they can partner together like how FSU and the Seminole Nation did back in the day.

They'll cave. They caved when that douchebag Cardinals pitcher whined about the chop before Game 5 last year (which I still contend was nothing more than a ploy to distract the Braves before the game).

Braves released a statement on Saturday that pretty much said that the status quo will remain.

That’s good. I really hope we can avoid the chopping block (pun intended). Don’t know what baseball would be without the Braves as we know them. All of these teams have resisted the pressure in previous years, but this new wave of cancel culture is taking out everything in its path. They got rid of the tomahawk last year, so I’m not sure they’re going to survive in the long run. If Norte Dame is considering a name change, we best recognize that we aren’t immune.

This is what happens when people with money wanna placate the cancel mob. Tell them to shove it up their candy asses.

I’m glad the Braves are sticking put. However, the old Cleveland Indians logo was just straight racist.

Chief Wahoo was a classic logo.

Didn’t say it wasn’t and I rather liked it but doesn’t mean it wasn’t extremely stereotypical and visually racist or demeaning.

I lived in that area for years. I remember listening to Kiley and Booms in the morning a lot. They had multiple Indian tribe leaders on their show to ask them about their use of Indians and Chief Wahoo. The tribe leaders all said they didn't care and that they had much, much more important shite to deal with.

The only people offended are the white guilt liberals who love to be offended on everyone else's behalf.

Well that’s true. There’s a movement that started out for a singular purpose that has been sort of hijacked and morphed. Like a fire, it needs to find new sources of oxygen to stay ablaze. Because we don’t have any REAL problems anymore (other than COVID19), people find shite to gripe and bitch about.

We’re no longer dying of malaria or typhoid fever. We’re no longer having to run from a tribe coming to kill us. We’re no longer having to fend off lions, tigers and bears. So we must stay vigilant on our new “real” problems... like the name of a Football team.

I’m not saying that they shouldn’t be changed (Redskins, etc). I’m just saying, it’s not this dire emergency that folks make it out to be. Those people are the “oxygen chasers” in my fire analogy.

The Redskins name should have been changed years ago. If they were the Palefaces or Blackskins we'd have gotten rid of them decades ago.

Braves is like calling a team Knights or Templars or Samurai. There's nothing derogatory about it. Plus it's just a great name.

I don't think it'll be changed, but if it is I blame Dan Snyder.
