Only one I would consider on defense is Caldwell just because of what he did here before and I like the way he recruits. The rest I really couldn’t care less.

O still win there. Kiffin s seasons were regressing. I think he started with 10 wins then they dropped every year after that

Maybe Tennessee will hire him back.

Kiffin is my # 1 candidate. He was when we hired Morris.
He checks all the boxes in what we need. He would relish the chance to play Saban, not like Morris who lost before he even took the field.

What exactly are those boxes? Losing to Arizona schools while you coach one of the most iconic teams in college football history and getting fired after the 3rd game of the season? I mean can we wait until he puts at least two good seasons together at Florida Atlantic before we throw more money at someone who really hasn’t won much as a head coach

Same. I ran my mouth a lot about Venables but I knew that was a long shot. I thought we had a chance at Kiffin and I hoped we woulda took it.
I do think he has learned quite a lot since his time at both USC and Tennessee.
I recognize he is a risk. But he is also high reward. Dude can coach offense. Hopefully by now he has learned how to run a program without running it into the ground. I believe he has.
Dude will build a team here that can beat anyone. 800+ yards of offense in a single game.

Kiffin's highest ranked win since he's been at Florida Atlantic was against #77 Florida Intl. Last year.

He's had 10 years and some time at Bama to learn from. His impact on Bama's offense (even today) can't be argued or understated. No way Bama continues to win at such a high level with the offense they were running prior to Kiffin.
He was 34 I believe when he was at TN. I'd be curious to know how many coaches were successful at that type of program at that age??
Heck USC and TN still can't find coaches.
Ed O was a disaster at Ole Miss, and I assumed he'd do the same at LSU (especially after they wanted him gone after 1 season) but it's pretty obvious he's not the same coach he was.
Kiffin isn't a slam dunk, but frankly I can't think of anyone I'd consider to be a sure thing at this point.

Kiffin is the 'fool's gold' of coaches.

Yep.
He's basically a hot girl with a drug problem we want to fix.
We really want to believe she's changed. Sure, she used to steal things from us and pawn them for money, and maybe she came to our family Thanksgiving a few years ago chowdered out of her mind and tried to fight my cousin, but that time in the clink and work-release has been good for her. She's changed and matured. I saw a needle in her car the other day, but she told me it was for B12 shots. I want to believe.

Kind of my general thought process as well, but I've been wrong so much lately that I'm just going to abstain from bitching about anyone until we see them on the field.
