So, just heard from a friend that Kiffen has been in contact.

Of course nobody has a inkling of what will happen yet, but evidently he is interested...

Feral, don't kill the messenger ...

most will curse this info.

But he evidently has made contact via Sexton to a bot member....

Of course it has to be Sexton!

Man, I would be thrilled with him.

I think his ego has taken enough lumps now that he may be matured. Grabbing him 5+ years ago would have been good for recruiting, but he wouldn't have been ready to win here.

I think he's done his time now and put in his dues to the point he knows he not a Golden boy anymore. Plus he can still recruit.

I say we get an up-and-comer and pay them $500k per win, no buyout.

Don't come here if you don't know you can compete.

Dude, he is still fairly immature imho.

However, I have it on good authority that he has reached out to a BOT member via his agent.

And that he would love the chance to be in the SEC!

He has a thought out process of whom he wants on his staff and one is already at Arkansas, but only one.... not who most would think!

See, this is the stuff that gives me a boner. This type of talk tells me he is daydreaming of how much arse he could kick here.

We disagree on his maturity, but I think we both can agree his time under Saban and his current blue collar job have to be beneficial for him as a coach.

ETA: No chance you will divulge his coach choice? Had to try.

Rev, sometimes I swear we know the same group of people and are probably separated by less than 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon (perfect Razorback fan handle btw).

This is not one of those times. I can't get these dudes to talk about anyone other than Norvell or seldomly Leach. They may just personally like him as their favorite, but they're all in on riding the Norvell Chevelle. Norvell Nova? Norvell something.

Thank god. Him and Norvell would be the best possible hires. Makes sense too because HY tried to hire him at Houston.

Hy hasn't been shy about hiring people, or attempting to hire folks with problems.

Sampson at Houston, to Arkansas

Tried to hire Kiffen there.

He is a numbers guy and loves to hire someone who has a chip on their shoulder to prove something.

He had Herman as well...

Who knows what will happen, Norvell has been the vocal favorite since three games ago, but....

Stepp

Though I don't see how you do not retain Lunney. He has great ties to the state. He has consistently created an NFL TE, and found a few gems for us outside of the state in the past.

The only random guess on who he wants that would be an out of the box person is the guy coaching Dtackles. The rest are bums, and I cant imagine he isnt either.

Stepp, lunney, and traylor are seriously the only ones even worth interviewing here, and idk how I truly feel about traylor.

love you Rev, and appreciate your inside info.

The Kiffin threads are extremely formulaic, wherein the apologists just tout the good and willfully ignore all of the bad. You'll see the same mealy-mouthed bullshite like "his time at Bama changed him!" which ignores the fact that he was fired a week before the CFP championship game, as well as "he was 11-2 at FAU" which ignores his 12-10 record since.

That's not even touching on him losing his locker room so badly at USC that the players were fighting in the dressing room at the Sun Bowl, or the atrocious attrition rate of his one heralded recruiting class at Tennessee.

And save me the bullshite about "it'd at least be fun!" We already had a (allegedly) functioning alcoholic who was a ferocious tweeter and trolled conference opponents in Bert. It wasn't fun.

Let's go get a real fricking football coach this time. We haven't had one since 2011.

EDIT — none of that was meant for you, Rev, just the first sentence. Love ya bud

The issue with Kiffin for me is usc. I know they were coming off sanctions but it really worries me that he had one of the top blue blood jobs in the country but couldn’t win there. And in an easy conference to boot. Hell all I heard yesterday was how sorry the pac 12 is and why hiring a coach who wins out there would be bad but now we want to go hire a coach who couldn’t even win there?

Talk about a massive boost in recruiting and press coverage.

Little risk in hiring him, at a minimum, he leaves you much better off.
