QBs are everything in college. Bama's roster loaded full of 5 stars was as mortal as ever because QB play wasn't up to standard.

We hitched our wagon to a lazy moron with no backup plan. They hit on one of the most talented arms in the country. Penix has made some incredible throws this game and has the pocket awareness and agility to actually avoid pressure. They aren't in this game without him.

Personally I think we've lacked in talent evaluation for a while. That or we've made a lifestyle out of missing on who we actually want and settling for less. Either way the result is the same.

Penix plus the play calling is insane.

Damn near perfect offense tonight.

Will be very interesting to see vs Michigan if the game holds.

And talent evaluation/development adds to the long list under “shitty coaching” that comes hand and hand with hiring shitty coaches.

What DeBoer has done is amazing. Took over Washington after they had just went 4-8. Immediately goes 11-2 and now is about to be 14-0 and playing for a national title in year 2 without top 5 recruiting classes. It’s like some shite you’d do on an ncaa video game.

Amazing what vetting and hiring an innovative mind will do for a program.

Aka a guy with above an 80 IQ. The amount of idiot millionaires in CFB is astounding.

Also goes to show what can happen when you have an ad with the balls to cut bait on someone who’s clearly in over their head and not working out. Also, stop hiring retreads and just go find someone who’s a fricking winner. It’s not rocket science.

It's both inspirational and depressing at the same time.

Washington proves that playing in a weaker conference would have been a benefit for us. They are playing for their 2nd natty since we joined the SEC.

Yeah but none of that shite actually matters when it comes to college football. Baton Rouge is a shite hole but lsu is still damn good most years.

It matters. In terms of being good at football, it matters more to be heavily demographically advantaged (I'll phrase it PC )

We don't really have that advantage either.

I think you meant black, but I’m gonna take it as larger. And if the trade off is having more people and a good football team or smaller and a shite football team with bright spots every 5ish years… I’ll take the latter.

Don't get me wrong, I think this is very achievable for us. Just takes a really high level coach. Which is true for like 90% of programs

Teams who are routinely penalized for procedural stuff don't do well in any conference....

That’s just academia in general

I’m betting the vast majority of faculty and U of A are also woke

I can tell you from different friends and family, even the smaller schools in Arkansas and Louisiana both are infected with woke bullshite. You wouldn’t think places like Louisiana tech or southern Arkansas university would be infected with woke but they are. Washington isn’t winning because they have way more black people locally, that’s silly. They’re winning because they have a really good coach. Wish we had him

we would have went 5-7 at best in the pac 12 this year. Oregon, Washington, Utah, oregon state, cal, arizona, ucla, and usc would all beat us and Washington state would most likely beat us as well. You forget we lost to one of the worst western teams out there this year in byu.

I don't think you're fully appreciating the pure numbers advantage they have.

Looking at the roster, if you drew a ~60 mile radius circle around their campus, 34 of their players come from inside it.

If I drew that circle for us, but expanded it to ~100 miles to include Tulsa and Springfield, by my quick count we've got 15 players from inside that. That's including recruiting grounds that we by no means have a sole claim over.

My point isn't that Washington is some automatic football powerhouse, but they have some major advantages that we don't. To say otherwise is just sticking your head in the sand. Being in a better conference and being located around a better football culture is what we have to counter it.

And my point is according to recruiting Washington had the 26th best talent roster in the country. If we switch coaches with them we are a 9 win team at worst this season.
