He will go to BYU and beat us twice.

Think we need at least 2 DB transfers. Backend is void of talent right now. Going to ask two guys with injury histories to do a lot in ‘22.

You realize Hornsby will wind up at Auburn and win both a Heisman and a Natty because we are Arkansas, correct?

All these people saying "he cant throw" clearly do not remember Nick Marshall.
Hornsby would have transformed our program into long-term legitimacy if he stayed.
Now we'll be back to irrelevancy after KJ leaves (if not before).

No one more popular than the back up QB.

I mean....do you have any other QBs that can run a 4.3 40 in your back pocket?
IMO, this has been the biggest loss so far.

He's fast, sure but didn't he only throw about one pass all year?

If it was just about foot speed he would’ve started over Jefferson. He’ll Malik was the guy briles brought in as soon as they got here and Jefferson was the holdover from the previous staff so even if it was a wash talent wise Hornsby would’ve started. And you saw how he played vs the aggies. The kid cannot throw the ball that well. That may change but the only way we keep him is if we give him the job over kj which right now is ludicrous

Malik has a ton of work in the passing game. He would only be a viable QB in a shotgun spread option offense like the old Rich Rod WVU offense, and even then he’s probably getting hurt by game 3 and even that offense needs a passing game for balance.
Like a rookie QB who sits a few years before getting thrown in the fire, Malik should wait patiently behind KJ while he continues to develop his skills and adds a little weight. Nothing wrong with playing the long game.

The dude would have started for one year as it stands. Let's not get dramatic.

Bumper Pool returning for his 5th year

It's been said that Coley is pretty darn good as well. From some accounts, he was likely to be the backup to Jefferson next year anyway.
Malik could have seen the writing on the proverbial wall.
Malik needs to find a place to play. May not have been here. Speed to burn, but his passing ability is unproven.
No, this isn't a 'he wasn't that good anyway' post.
We do need to find another QB for depth now.

Malik going somewhere and going full Mike Vick mode would be the epitome of the Arkansas way
