Auburn boosters apparently want to go after Pittman as their next HC.

No, he likely won't leave, but Hunter is going to have to pay him. BTW, he would also kill it at Auburn in recruiting, like top 5 classes probably, but that place is such a shite show behind the scenes, I don't know what established coach would even take that job right now. It's Texas without the money.

This smells like a sexton leverage play. Pitt boss would be insane to go there and be expected to routinly beat saban

Don’t think it’s legit

But if it turns out to be legit, I can see it being put out there by Pittman/Sexton for raise and recruiting purposes. Kinda like I think the Briles and Miami stuff was.

Let him go if he wants to keep jerking us around for a raise. Lost all respect for him, he’s trying to bilk the university by touting his success with another coach’s players. This is the second time he’s floated his name in the past couple months at places that aren’t even interested.

Sadly, this is all too true. Auburn could fall into the sewer and come up with a gold watch. Meanwhile we piss down our legs and go into a coma for a decade at the slightest sign of turbulence.

Their previous 3 coaches at Auburn were mired in controversy and still won an SEC Championship. Given their luck, Harsin will probably pull a horseshoe out of his arse and go 11-1 this coming season after this shitshow of a spring. Hell, Tuberville went undefeated a few months after Jetgate.

The fact that dude hired Jimmy Sexton, was asking for $7M and given his known antics on the lake, wouldn't put it past him pulling something dumb.

None of these guys are particularly bright or operate on a particularly high moral code.

Thinking otherwise is just naive.

He’s playing us for fools, he wants that $7 million payday so he can check out and wait for the big buyout. That’s the trend in coaching and Pittman is no different. He said this was his last stop and then hired Jimmy Sexton!

man, IDK.. I may be a fool, but not readily admit it yet. I just don't see him using this job to settle. He isn't one of the personality to accept mediocrity imho.

I don't care if he gets a generous raise as long as he keep trudging along and improving a program that was as close to death as I have ever seen.

I sold tix to a conference game for 9.00 a piece during Chuds tenure. This year, they held normal value for those games I couldn't attend... and some did better.

The excitement is back, we don't need Pittman leaving period!

It’s like Chris rock says “a man is as faithful as his options”.

Dream job is what people say when they are under qualified. I believed it when Nutt said it but I’m a lot older and less naive now.

yeah he should continue to make several million less than his peers. Arkansas is such a great place coaches should pay the University for the privilege to lead the team

His peers have at least earned it, Pittman’s all time head coaching record is 12-11. We shouldn’t double his salary for that.

Also why would we double the salary of a guy who said he isn’t going anywhere? Unless he’s just full of shite and actually intends on chasing bigger salaries.

Yep, let’s take a coach who loves the program, has raised attendance and has brought us out of being the laughing stock and screw him in the arse as hard as we can because he told us this was his last job.

Sam said when he was hired he may be screwing himself in the future by taking the job without negotiating on the front end, looking like he was right.

I still don't understand why we wouldn't give him incentives added to current contract. As long as he wins pay the man +1 to his rank.

Finish second get paid to the top. Finish 12 paid bonuses up to the 11th highest salary.

Hunters gotta find a way to reward success if he's gonna be tight with the purse strings.

That’s best, I say an extra $500,000 for every win above 6.

If hunter wants to fairly incentivize he’d have to do better than that. Like $5 million bonus for wining the sec. $10 million for winning the national title.

Hunter talks a good game about paying for results but in reality administrators love to budget things. It would be hard to do with a incentivized contract that fairly compensates results based on the market.

No they don’t. They want Kevin Steele. They wanted Steele when they fired Gus. Hopefully he hires that BFF Chavis that was brought up each game they had against eachother.
