He’ll kill it there and they’ll forgot all about the bad things they say he’s done.

His name is literally filtered out like a swear word on the site.

That is Elder God tier levels of pearl clutching.

He’s not going to be a failure, but TCU isn’t going to replicate the success in ‘23 they had in ‘22.

They won’t have Duggin, Kendre Miller, or Quentin Johnston. They also won’t have the horseshoe up their arse next year they had all year.

TCU went 12-2 and to the CFP without Briles, and we went 7-6 and to a Liberty Bowl with him. In all likelihood we will be better and they’ll be worse, and it won’t necessarily have much to do with Briles’ departure/arrival.

TCU had a Cinderella season and everything that went right for them did so.

They played in my opinion the second worst power 5 conference in the nation with PAC-12 as the worst. Yet TCU couldn't win the Big 12.

So @TCUFootball has officially announced Kendall Briles as their new OC in a press release and on their website, but they’re too afraid to tweet it. Very brave moves all the way around.

Wouldn't it be nice to have one of those?

surely he wants the Houston HC job ASAP but I'll bet Holgerson is trenched in there pretty good

something tells me little Briles won't be satisfied with something like UT-San Antonio when that guy leaves for a P5 job

If that ends in a 65-7 spanking by Georgia then no.

Excellent look for TCU and Kendal Briles to use his kids as a PR shield in the announcement and his updated Twitter profile pic

Whew boy, the comment section on the original post by TCU. Dude is walking into a hornet's nest.

I admittedly know practically nothing about the culture of TCU's fan base (I was a kid when we made the move to the SEC), but I'm a bit surprised at how much vitriol he's getting.

There was only a 4 year overlap between them joining the Big 12 and Art Briles' tenure at Baylor. They already hired Kaz Kazadi last year, so Briles isn't even the first guy they've hired who was connected to the Baylor scandal.

Maybe Briles isn't very self-aware, but he surely has to be having second thoughts about the TCU move now given that the Baylor stuff was never an issue and he was embraced here.

I found this pretty funny, but also accurate:

quote:

PR masterclass over here.

-Graphic sent out Friday, a full day after the hire
-Name not included in the tweet
-Using family as a shield
-Completely unclear which person the graphic is even about
-“Welcome” is about 10 times bigger than the name
-Hat covers part of his last name

One thing he forgot in the tweet: Briles is in the background of the image, and the last person you see in the pic (eyes going left to right).

I don't know if the guy who wrote that tweet was being facetious with his "PR masterclass" comment, but I'd err on the side of it being brilliant due to all the subtleties in it.

Things that were close fell our way last year. Things that were close did NOT fall our way this year.
We lost I think 4 games by less than a TD.
Injuries also hit us harder this year. Still, the record is what it is.

There's a good chunk of Texans that have lost their collective marbles when it comes to the Briles family. Logic and reasoning no longer hold any place in their opinions. In their minds Kendal was practically in the room when the abuse was happening. It's borderline insane.
