In a way I don’t blame him. Why convince him to come back if we don’t see him as QB of the future? And if he’s QBOTF then he should’ve been playing in the 4th quarter yesterday, regardless of who is currently more prepared

I went back and watched some of his high school highlights. He can throw the ball. I expect our coaches are the ones who know how consistently and accurately he can throw it.
His reaction has to make you wonder if he was told the truth in all this. I’ve never thought Pittman was that kind of guy, and still don’t until proven otherwise, but if Hornsby was told he wasn’t going to play QB here, why did he stay?

I’m a big Pittman fan but he has totally mismanaged this Hornsby situation, at least from the outside looking in.
Our WRs suck. No reason he shouldn’t have seen 10-15 offensive snaps per game, even if all he did was run deep to keep the defense honest

Sucks that we are probably going to lose an amazing athlete. Never saw anything from him that made me think we would take the next step with him at QB though. That being said, if KJ goes down this year, we are in deep shite. After seeing zero progression from KJ this year I feel like he will be back next year. So that's nice............. right?

I think he wanted him to stay because Arkansas doesn't have a decent backup behind Jefferson and probably wanted him at WR but Hornsby might have said no.

Agreed it seems like against Cincy we used him in a wheel route and some deep routes but since then we’ve done too many horizontal plays with him like screens and reverses that never seem to work. Just once I wanted to see a deep ball to him.
I’m not convinced he has very good hands though since he seems to bobble the ball around half the time he gets it, even when he filled in for KJ at QB against A&M last year.

Speed and athleticism doesn’t mean a thing when you consistently put the ball on the ground. I have never seen a player that protects the ball so poorly be so loved by the fans.

Bert 2.0 huh? I’m not even going to look it up, but Pittman signed seven 4 stars this year, and has 8 more on our list right now.
