Elko will grabbed by Florida or a much bigger program than a tree Arkansas. He will be the hottest name on the coaching market after this season.

Let’s not forget though, Anderson was coming off his 3rd post season appearance in a row and still got canned.

that was also in a sport where we can most definitely compete against anyone. Football? I just don't see it, but I hope you are right and Hunter gets as serious about football as he has been other sports.

TCU and Briles have one first down in the second half to WVU at home.

It's not going too well for him there either. Maybe they both regret their decisions.

Don’t give a frick. Give me a good coach regardless of some fans that get their feelings hurt over it.

TCU loses at home to WVU. Look awful on O, shutout in 2nd half.

Those fans already hate Briles won't take long for the rest to turn. Let's take a look...

Average in all facets including…

And most especially in coaching, sadly.

We had zero answer for the extra pass rusher in the second half. That was hard to watch.

The defense wasnt good against an entirely one dimensional offense, but they get a pass IMO after how unwatchable the offense was after half.

Offense F
Defense C
Special Teams F

GP had the team..........

Not sure what the offensive strategy was, other than for Morris to throw the ball on the run to his right as often as possible

Pathetic player effort, game plan and coaching

One dimensional team

Unbelievably this team lost to a team that quite literally couldn’t compete a pass. The offense is terrible and way too predictable. A bowl game needs to be the hope. So sad because we just got too much hope based on last year. Just crushing

zero seconds half points against a team whose entire defense is in hospital right now. Awesome.

briles did a truly horrific job. Offensive line in general looked like they quit at the half.

frick briles too then, maybe we overcame his incompetence while he was here and could’ve done even better than 9-4 and 7-6. Wouldn’t surprise me at this point if Sam just had no idea how to pick coordinators

IF Pittman gets next year, we need to roll out the red carpet to Jeff Lebby for OC and tell him we won’t humiliate him and his family publicly if his FIL comes around like OU did.

Hell, we had Art’s son here for 3 years and reportedly let him come around the program without making it a spectacle.

Oddly enough, it was Jack Crowe who perfectly assessed Arkansas football in the summer of 1993.

Orville has a snippet about it in his book, but basically a writer for the Dem-Gazette ran into Crowe as both were picking their sons up from summer camp somewhere in Arkansas before Danny Ford's first season, and the writer asked Crowe what he thought about how Ford would do. Crowe's response was essentially that Ford would have his work cut out for him, and that Arkansas is never going to out-talent anyone and has always excelled by way of great coaching, scheming, and overachieving players.

He basically described the Petrino era 15 years before it happened, as well as the blueprint for finding a head coach.

TL;DR - Jack Crowe was saying 30 years ago that we were never going to our-talent anyone and thus we needed an innovative offensive-minded coach to out-scheme and overachieve.

Chadwell is my #1 choice.

this is 100% correct, but at least we would have a competent run game and win the games we’re supposed to. I don’t want gus, but at least if we do that we’d win 6/7 every year and the losses to byu and liberty would stop. It would basically be a repeat of Houston nutt which we all know we could do better, but I’d give my left nut for an 8-4 Houston nutt squad right now

I like the Marshall coach. If we’re going for an older coach, Maybe look at Air Force coach. Heck, Rich Rod is winning big at Jacksonville state. Can’t get much worse can it

You need a hungry as nails younger offensive coach.

This is actually a good year to hire a coach, too, because it does not appear (at least right now) that there are going to be many bigger programs out there in need of a coach this offseason.

Let's just look at who may be in the market to compete with us. And many of these are 'maybes' at best.

Florida?

Mich State

Virginia?

Oklahoma State?

I really can't think of many others right now.

Chadwell to Virginia would be the one to look out for if they pull the plug on Elliott. And he's already sitting there in state. That's would be dangerous.

Curt Cignetti would be an interesting option. Older but has a great resume.

It was on the kicker, in the second half he missed a field goal and then had two more blocked and they lost by 3.

Not saying he wouldn’t come, but his wife doesn’t want to leave the east coast beaches. She wasn’t happy about leaving dirty Myrtle.
