UA and AState have some history and there is resentment from AState fans toward UA going back a long time because they saw Frank Broyles as treating them as little brother and holding their program back. I know a number of AState alums and while some are also UA fans I would say the majority of the ones I know have resentment toward UA even though they do not express it to me, a UA alum. Kind of like LR- NLR. UAPB and UA never had this kind of “hostile” relationship. And remember we beat them in the basketball tourney after they blew a big lead—that stung.
In the PB paper the other day one of the former UAPB players who’s in admin now I think brought up the issue with Yuracheck that since UA played Southern and paid them 1M why wouldn’t they do the same for an in state school. So it sort of makes sense to me— let’s benefit and grow the UA system as opposed to giving it away to another cupcake not related to us.

I find this complaint odd. Reps against UAPB aren't going to make or break the future of this team. Whatever "experience" you can gain against an opponent that shitty in a half-empty stadium is negligible in the grand scheme. What is UAPB gonna show you that will prepare you for a season in the SEC? I can guarantee you they'd have been better off practicing against themselves today if that were your goal.
If anything, today showed that a lot of the 2s are more than likely going to get jumped by incoming talent. 6 more minutes against Pine Bluff isn't changing that.

Yeah after reading quotes about it. It's clearly a business move. If there's a second place school in the state that matters yurachek wants it to be PB vs state. Let's pay ourselves the check for the rent a win.

So if the 2's get jumped by incoming talent, how many wins do we have next year?

Dude, again... as others have said, in form for better understanding. 1. Our team goes against better competition everyday in practice. This was a terrible exhibition period.
2. Don't need our starters injured, or depth for that matter, shorten it and get it over with so we can get back to planning, prepping for the rest of our SEC schedule.
3. Pitt Boss didn't have anything to do with the scheduling of this game.
4. It satisfied the PTB that want a LR game, but much lesser comp, which also helps us get another win for bowl eligibility.
5. Just shut up, damn!

I like Sam but he's a first year HC and a yes man. while I don't approve of the two 12 minute quarters doesn't mean I'm a hater.
He was brought here to mend the locker room after Chaggie. He's done a good job of that imo. He's a players coach but I'm not sure that will translate to 8 or 9 wins in the SEC.
I hope we can get to a bowl game and get some extra practice time against each other.

This is where my head is.
We’re paper thin right now in terms of depth in addition to being banged up, per Pittman.
I’m fine ceding 6 mins of game play against a horrible SWAC team for not having to chance freak injuries on a bad WMS playing surface and leaving this game relatively intact.

John Barnhill and Frank Broyles had a reason that they supported Arkansas and Arkansas only. Arkansas should never have to a babysitter to anyone. No one is entitled to free handouts from Arkansas.

Been saying this for years.
Also been saying if a school in state is trying to go from D2 to D1, when/if it’s based on attendance, let them rent the stadium out and count the game as their home game.

Has nothing to do with reps for the second team.
If I’m a true freshman redshirt for either team, and didn’t get to play one play, then I’m pissed off right now. Those kids know they can play in parts of a few games and not lose their redshirt. If I’m a walkon soph junior or senior for either team, and didn’t get to play one play, I’m pissed off right now. It has nothing to do with playing the second team/key backups. It has everything to do with playing the 3rd teamers and 4th teamers.
So Pittboss made a mistake and the UAPB coach made a mistake. It’s more on the UAPB coach; is he sending a message to his players that he thinks they’re a bunch of pussies? If I’m the worst UAPB player dressed out today, I wanted to be able to say I played one play against the Arkansas Razorbacks.

2's play every game - most offensive and defensive 2's are starters on one or more special teams
this was about getting walkons and true freshmen redshirts in and they should have gotten in
same for UAPB, any kids who didn't get in one play today should be pissed
